looking to maybe get a little insite on xotic tactical scopes i know they dont have any new models out now but i have a chance to pick one up thats never been mounted and wanted to know if they are worth the time?

Re: xotic scope?

I love mine! it is not nearly as good as my Premier but I wish SWFA still sold them, I would buy 2 more.
To my eyes the glass is pretty darn good.
The tracking has always been good.
It is water proof and didnt fog up.
Back when I got it they were $899.99 for FFP Mil-Dot and 1/4 moa knobs.
This scope has been on my .50 BMG, 338 Rum and now sits on my .308,It has taken its share of abuse, it has plenty of adjustment and it has worked great for several years. I will keep on using it until I break it, Then I will get a Premier!.

I have read some negative comments about them but I think most people were hoping the XOTIC would live up to all the hype for the price $ and then they just quit making them?????

If you are getting one, That is your choice. I dont know what I would do?? I like the scope, BUT WHO is going to fix it when it is broken?

Just my Opinion.

XOTIC under water.

Re: xotic scope?

A buddy has one mounted on an FN and likes it, although admittedly it hasn't been run hard. I've shot it a couple of times, and it did fine. I would call SWFA and ask whether they still do warranty work on them first, though.

Re: xotic scope?

Had one for a year or so actually it my first "tactical scope". Its a decent scope very tough, but I just bought an IOR FFP 3-18x42 and so far I would definitely choose the IOR over the XOTIC. Super usable reticle, glass clarity, audible/solid clicks.. although IOR customer service has not had the greatest track record the company is around and scope can be repaired. I don't know if an XOTIC can be repaired. Personally unless it was a super deal I would save some more pennies and go for an IOR, or NF, but its your decision.
