I sent my paperwork to a class 3 dealer along with my payment for my phantom 7.62 suppressor about 4 weeks ago. Today I called to check on the status and was told that they ordered them from Yankee hill and that it usually takes 90 days for the order to come through. Is Yankee Hill company that slow or am I being fooled. I figured that if your accepting the paperwork and paying for the suppressor that it is already there and that all is left is sending the paperwork. What do you fellas think?

Re: Yankee hill suppressor ordering time.

Point well taken, I was duped. I was told that it was in hand, only to find out from another that it had been ordered.

Re: Yankee hill suppressor ordering time.

YHM is not that slow, i just had a form 3 go through in 4 weeks... that was for the 338 and 556 phantoms that were already manufactured and ready to ship, the wait was all on the atf.

Re: Yankee hill suppressor ordering time.

This isn't even a stainless steel suppressor. I would have thought that they would have plenty manufactured. I didn't think it took 90 days to get one in from a manufacturer. The only wait I thought was the atf. Don't know if I should ask for my money back and go through the process all over again or not.

Re: Yankee hill suppressor ordering time.

You wont wait 90 days, unless your dealer is jerking you around (which is more likely than YHM being slow). If he placed the order when he said he did, expect 45 days or so. Form 3's take roughly a month right now.

Re: Yankee hill suppressor ordering time.

I just had a barrel rethreaded and a 7.62 stainless Phantom rebuilt by YHM due to a local 'smith's ineptitude. It took about a month, of which a couple of weeks was getting the can refinished. They didn't mention anything about being backed up. As noted previously, buy what your dealer has on hand if you can.

Re: Yankee hill suppressor ordering time.

They CANNOT do the paperwork and send it in to the ATF until they have the suppressor since Form 4's require the SN of the item. Sounds like you need to get a clear answer from your dealer: are they waiting on the suppressor from YHM or the ATF?

If you suspect the dealer isn't being honest, call YHM and ask what wait times are for a 7.62 Phantom.

Here's some eye candy of my YHM 7.62 Phantom while you wait:

Re: Yankee hill suppressor ordering time.

My 338 phantom took about 35 days from when my dealer called in the order to when it showed up on his doorstep....that was March 31st that I mailed my F4 in, the day after it came in.
