I finally received my Premier Reticle 5-25x56 Heritage scope. It is an impressive piece of hardware. I haven't had a chance to compare it to my S&B 5-25x56, but I did get the opportunity to see if Richard Near's Unimount, developed for the S&B 5-25, would fit the PR 5-25x56. Guess what? It fits like a glove. After I took it off the S&B I looked closely for ring marks; I didn't expect to find any and I was right. The S&B looks like I just pulled it out of the box. I've attached some photos of the PR scope in the Near Mfng mount.

That's a slick base, very optilock-like. I couldn't find it on the Near site. Stats?

Let us know what you think of it compared to the S&B. I'm vetting ready to pull the trigger on a PH and would appreciate your input.

Every time I see one, I'm a little bit closer to buying the 3-15...

A few of my buddies are prodding me to be the guinea pig so they can check one out as well.

Mag-Can you take a pic with scope mounted on base-wondering if you can get the scope forward enough to not get scope bit! TIA barry

Re: YEHAWWWW! PR is here!

Barry,

I purchased that base from Near Mfg, Richard Near, owner. He's in Canada. He made that base specifically to mount the S&B 5-25x56, so I bought the base.

When my PR 5-25x56 arrived I pulled my S&B 5-25x56 out of the mount (Not one ring mark). You can see the S&B engineer's influence in the PR 5-25 construction; the mount fit perfectly, and yes, I can mount it far enough forward to go prone.

The PR 5-25 looks like the S&B on steroids. Both feel like you could club a man or beast to death with the scope alone.

When I get a chance I'll compare them side by side.
