Voice and a few modes of digital were effected, but the old standbys still proved their worth. Granted we were not that far apart (160 LOS miles max) but between NVIS, directed array control, & microwave we were still able to pass messages & photos

US suffers radio blackouts after being hit by ANOTHER solar storm
NOAA reported radio blackouts at around 12:51pm ET over the US. The disruptions were caused by a powerful solar flare that exploded from the sun earlier on Tuesday.
