I cant find a good answer to this one so ok, here goes.

I have decided to use the trust route for my NFA purchases. My attorney is drafting it. One question I can't find an answer to is how do I name trustees to the trust AFTER a NFA item is in place in the trust? How or what forms do I use to submit their info for the background checks? To that point why is there no fingerprint cards required for myself and my wife, the two trustees at the time of applicatiopn to the BATFE? My attorney was unsure and is checking on it but I wanted to get the scoop from people who have done it.

Re: Yet another trust question

You won't own the cans, the trust will.
A trust doesn't have fingers or a face, so no prints or pics.
If you already know who will be trustees, they're named in the document, or added in amendments.
These questions are why you should be using an attorney experienced in NFA revocable trusts.

You buy the can, your dealer helps fill out the Form 4 in duplicate, you send the completed Forms 4 with a COPY of your signed trust documents with a check for $200 to ATF. Months later the stamped Form 4 comes to your dealer and he calls you to come pick up your can and Form 4.

Re: Yet another trust question

if your lawyer cant answer your questions that you have posted.... you should find a new lawyer. He is obviously not well versed in NFA items or obtaining them thru a revocable living trust.
