Re: YHM Phantom on DPMS SASS
I run the QD Titanium Phantom on a Bushmaster BAR10--the predecessor to the modern Rock River 308's. I clean it after a day of shooting whether it's had 5 rounds or 200 rds. I've never HAD to clean it to keep it functioning. I gets dirtier than it does without the suppressor, but not really that bad. I bought a heavy buffer from heavybuffers.com which helped with the overgassing, but I think the adjustable gas would be a better solution. I bet you really wouldn't wear it out any faster running it stock--at least not where you could positively blame it on running a suppressor. I just changed the buffer to improve the ejection pattern. Unsuppressed it would eject at about 2 oclock to 3 oclock. Suppressed it ejected about 1230 or 1 oclock. The buffer brought it back to 2 oclock.
