Re: your best 300 win mag loads, and groups

No pics. Haven't figured out/ messed with them yet. But the load is 76the grains of H-1000, 210gr bergers seated in the lands. 1.32" groups at 300 meters.

Re: your best 300 win mag loads, and groups

Ok, not the greatest load from the greatest setup or shooter, but here it is. I also use this setup as a hunting round. 70.2gr IMR - 4831 and 180gr. Sierra Gamekings with CCI 250s. Set well off the lands in Winchester brass. Was averaging under 1" at 200 meters though there is always a flyer here or there. The problem for those is surely in the chair. I haven't gone to the trouble of doing pictures and honestly don't take pictures of my targets and rarely save them.

Always nice to see a .300WM thread...get one of these for every 150 .308 threads.

Re: your best 300 win mag loads, and groups

The load Im currently shooting out of my custom 300WM is the the 210 Berger pushed by 76 grains of RL 25. Using Remington brass and CCI 250 mag primers. COAL is 3.600 I dont have the tools to properly measure the distance from the lans so I couldnt tell you exactly how far it is away from mine. I just found where the bullet jamed and back it of till it loaded without any resistance. So I can only assume they are pretty close. Out of my Rock Creek Barrel Im getting an average or 2950fps with no signs of pressure issues. Ive never taken a target home and measured group size all that I can tell you is that I can cover a five shot group with a dime. The only reason this load pulls a shot is due to shooter error.

Im no competition shooter but a shoot more than most. I use this load primarily for hunting applications and I have been more than impressed with the results. Those 210 bergers hit like a freight train.

I am loading my TRG42 with 74,5 grs of Vihtavuori N165, Sierra MK 190 grs., fed 215M primers.
That's a 10 rounds group at 500 meters:

Re: your best 300 win mag loads, and groups

Not my best group with this rifle/load but the only picture I have. 1.32" 5-shot at 207 yards.

Win brass - 3 times fired
208AMAX
78.5gr H1000
CCI250
.030" jump
2925fps
Caution, this load is HOT and near the book max but safe in my rifle.
stock 700P, with AAC brake and 762SD suppressor, Mk4 6.5-20x50

I often get 3 shots touching at this same distance.
