I just saw the thread about Vets and it made me think of some of the pictures I have of my Dad. He went to Vietnam via the Idaho National Guard, Army Corp of Engineers.
He has hours worth of slides taken there, these are just a couple I have from his time there. Still alive today - thankfully.
He was in the Idaho NG prior to the War. A cav unit. He worked full time for the guard taking care of the horses. The took the horses a way and deployed them to the SP.
My favorite Vet, wife worked for C-2, CFLC Camp Doha Kuwait Mar. 2003. At that time it took an act of God to get her these flowers for her birthday but I pulled it off.
One of my favorite men on the planet, my great uncle. He was in Vietnam for a number of tours. If anyone has ever read the book No Place To Die: The Agony of Vietnam, there's a whole section about him. One of my heros growing up, for sure.
