I had that same scope on my 300 wsm Win 70. It worked well for deer hunting and punching paper at 100 yards. I sold it to fund my USO purchase, due to the limitations of the Z-plex reticle for LR shooting.

^ pretty much this. It is going to be great for 100-200yrd shooting. Even 300yrds would be good if you know your drop and can just dial it in.
But if you are looking for more target less hunting type scope and for further range you would be better off with something else IMO
Sightron makes a good scope in the price range with tactical reticles. worth checking out as another option.
I like both zeiss and sightron in that price range
edit - i forgot zeiss has the rapid z reticle too, so yeah, both zeiss and sightron are good choices in that price range. It is a little busy for hunting IMO but to each their own

Uh... Those are subjective questions. The clarity was better than my $150 Nikon Buckmaster, but not as good as my USO (as would be expected). Kinda depends on what you're comparing it to.
The magnification was more than enough for 100-200 yard shooting.

My apologies, I understand. The Zeiss conquest is about $750, I was hoping it would be as clear or maybe a little better that other scopes in that price range.

No worries. It was good money spent for me. If you're not looking to go passed 300 yards, it should do fine. You can always sell it, I got close to my money back when I sold it on GB.

I've got a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x with a z-plex on my hunting rifle. It does a great job and is easy to shoot as far as you want, though lacks FFP and range estimation/hold capability.
I have another identical to it, except a mil-dot reticle on my SPR. Its more than a "300 yard scope". It also has great clarity, good resolution, and is very bright in low light.

The Ziess Conquest offer great glass at a very good price. I use one for about a year and really like it. I'm going to test out a Zeiss Conquest Duralyt 2-8x42mm for the next hunt.

I have that same scope on a 25-06. it's a very good scope. wish I would have got a ballistic reticle with it now. either way it's a fine scope that I will never get rid of

It will serve you very well for your stated use. I have a Conquest on my main .22-250 varmint gun, and it will NOT part with it. Very good glass, is always dead-on (holds zero). Not much more to ask for when on a flat shooting rifle out to 400yds or so.
