I have been eyeballing these things for a couple of months, and got the chance to fondle them at Bass Pro tonight. The counter people there did not seem very knowledgable on them, but the thing that bothered me was how dim the rangefinder display was, and it appeared to be non adjustable. I looked up the owners manual when I got home and it mentions that it automatically sets the brightness of the display depending on conditions.....anybody have any experience with these in really bright daylight? Can you see the display ok?

Re: Zeiss Rangefinding Binoculars question...

Most of the reports I read on here indicated the rangefinder portion of the Zeiss was better. I was disappointed to read the Zeiss ballistic system only allowed to choose from preset ballistic curves. Seems when there are 5.11 tactical watches that allow actual ballistic data to be input, a $3,000 pair of binocs should allow at least some of that.

Thats pretty impressive. On a rest I can't hold mine steady enough to read a animal let alone a telephone pole at 1600 yards. I have a Swaro range finder and think I might trade my range finder and Swaro binos in for a all in one unit. I can't decide between the Lecia's and the Zeiss. If swaro had one out I would buy it.

Re: Zeiss Rangefinding Binoculars question...

Trust me i have had both and the zeiss is worlds better than the leica. I also have a vector plrf 10 and i would rather use the zeiss.

Re: Zeiss Rangefinding Binoculars question...

the zeiss range finding binoculars are awesome. they have the tightest beam divergence as far as range finders go, and i ranged a sign at 1200 yards no problem. havn't had a chance to test them on an animal, but i did checkout a brunette at the beach at about 150 yards :). they also work well in low light. you won't be disappointed by these.

wegner426,

I've got the Zeiss brf. Very happy with the purchase.
Summer has just finished here in Oz. I tried the brf in bright sunlight, no problem in reading the display.
They do brighten up in broad day light.

Regards, Albert.
