So I'm thinking about a hunting scope and really do not mind SFP for this application as I have a G7BR2 range finder. My question is with this system VX6&Custom Turrets am I barking up the wrong tree???
My main concern is the scope & compatability with the G7BR2's angle compensation system. The BR2 is programmable and I only hand-load my hunting rounds.
Thanks FYO!

So to start, you're talking about the Zeiss Conquest V6 series, right? If so here's my take. The V6 is available with target turrets that adjust in MOA. You're rangefinder provides a ballistic solution for adjustment, right? In mils or moa? If so, sure why wouldn't that work? I don't think you need custom turrets. Usually a custom turret is designed to adjust your elevation based on distance to target so you don't have to come up with a ballistic solution, but if I understand correctly your rangefinder already does that.

The unit will do both moa&mil you can input your bc velocity @ elevation @load developement and it reads temp humidity elevation and shot angle , however from what I've read or misread the shot angle feature works best with a calibrated turret ala Gunwerks . The G7BR2 is a Gunwerks product and they sell scopes with a turret system calibrated to your data. I was wondering if the V6 & calibrated turrets would do the same for me regarding the angle compensation feature of the G7BR2?

Shouldn't matter if it's a custom turret or not. Whether you set the parameters on the rangefinder to give you a solutions in minutes, or a setting on a custom turret, internally, you're adjusting the elevation the same amount on the scope. The rangefinder should give you the correct solution in moa, V6 already has moa turrets.

Changing the turret to a custom turret usually just gives you different markings on the turret. Guys do this for hunting to get them good enough close quickly. The markings usually indicate where to dial the turret for a given distance. They're not perfect though because to your point angle and atmospherics can play a part.

Thanks, I will have to experiment with BR2 and my Razor GEN II HD at some extreme shot angles and see if I can compare the units data beside my Snipers Tools ACI to verify . The ACI and range only feature are what I have been using with the BR2 and for a hunting application it's a little slow and requires calculation and taking eyes off the game .
