Rifle Scopes Zero from elevated position?

New to scopes - just ordered 1-8x LPVO and trying to figure out my best option to zero it.

Local outdoor range I would normally go to for flat 100 Yards is Covid closed.

I could get the 100 yards on my own land but very hilly - would probably end up shooting from 30 ft of elevation of elevation down onto target.

Excuse my ignorance - how much difference would this make and is there a way to account for it?

Can it be done,... yes,... if you have all of your ballistic data. You can zero at 25 yds an be on at a grand,... but only,... if all your data points are correct. ie, off set, an hard ballistic data are spot on.
Supply data,... off set,... angle,...yardage,... and we'll get you on.

Do I need a rangefinder? I am totally new to this and figured I did not need one for a 1x-....

You can do it with a tape measure, but they have to be hard numbers. A LRF w/angle built in would be handy for this but I would not buy one for just a one off. If you plan on doing a lot of angle shooting down the road it might be something to consider, however if your new to the sport I'd hold off for more important stuff.

You’re fine. 30 ft up and 300ft long = is roughly a 6deg angle.

Not enough to matter.

Thanks for the info. I think I deff have 50 yards of flat land. I will get the data I can and come back.
