Nightforce 3x15 with Mil Turrets and a Mil Reticle.
Yes your Mil Holdovers will change when you change Magnifications.
But its 15 power, I suspect you won't turn it down below 15 for anything past 100 yards.
I've got the NXS 5.5X22 and I rarely turn it down.
I shot the 8.5X25 Leupold for several years, and never turned it down unless I was at 100 Yards.
And Not to forget, The Nightforce Is illuminated.

I've noticed that for me as well whenever I use a variable power. It's not often I'm on less than maximum which is why I usually purchase "straight" power scopes for everything now. FFP would be neat but I don't shoot competitions so not sure I would get any use out of that either.
I think my next will either be a nightforce like you suggested or one of the Vortex PST ones. I've used vortex and think it's about leupold VX-III optical quality, not super great but definitely usable. And that with matching reticle/knobs for 700? Sounds like it may turn out to be a real steal.

I shoot some competitions, and then only time I turned mine down was at the 200 yard Night shoot.
