Zeiss Scope Rings ?

Anyone running the Zeiss Scope Rings with the integral bubble level ?

Looks a bit more streamlined and snag resistant than the typical bubble level on a scope tube, or is it too small and going to be lost behind the mag zoom ring and flip cap ring ?
I want to upgrade the rings on my NRL22 gun now that I have a S3 6-36 X 56 scope on it and these look like a good way to decrease the amount of "Stuff" on the rifle.

Question about Magpul Pmags-Seekins SP10

I bought a Pmag Gen 3 10 round magazine for my Seekins SP10, 6.5 Creedmore. It is an SR25 style which I was told runs in these rifles. On the left side the notch, that appears to be the catch, and it’s is not identical. The 20 rounder has a slot cut into it and the 10 rounder does not. I attached a picture of them side by side. Will this 10 rounder function fine? I have not yet shot it and was wondering why they are not identical. Thanks.

The new Garmin xero?

Yea I get this is a puff piece my the cream of the sporting press but in theory it sounds promising. I’ve always been pleased with Garmin products.
It’s brand new so I don’t suspect many have used it yet but anyone else read /watched any reviews.
Price seems in line IF it delivers what’s promised.

Questions on private-firearms-policy coverage..

I hope someone can answer my question(s); they're all related to what "COLLECTIBLES INSURANCE SERVICE" calls 'away from premises' loss... I'd like to know if the loss of a handgun is covered under the following conditions:

1) If I'm legally carrying a handgun (w/ a Florida CCW) and have to go into a hospital emergency room and the gun is taken from me (or if I surrender it to hospital staff) and subsequently lost or stolen, will a private collectible insurance company generally cover such a loss?

2) If it's confiscated by law enforcement and lost or stolen from their possession, will a private collectible insurance company generally cover such a loss?

3) If it falls out of my holster while I'm on a boat and lost at sea, will a private collectible insurance company generally cover such a loss?

I've just signed up for their policy, and would like to know if any of the readers here have any experience with any of the three scenarios I've cited. I asked the COLLECTIBLES INSURANCE SERVICE agent, but she said, "each case is individual" and was pretty foggy about how the first two scenes would be handled. I thought of the holster-in-the-boat example after I'd hung up.

Thanks, Guys!

Looking For "universal" cheek riser Recommendations

Good Evening, I recently installed a Grayboe Renegade stock on my Remington 700. I know I could have purchased one with a riser built in, but I did not like the style/could not afford at the time. I love everything about it except I need to raise the cheek comb. I would like to avoid drilling into the stock. My current setup is a piece of foam that Leupold uses in their scope boxes and some ace bandaging. With that being said what are some of your guy's recommendations for the best cheek bags/sleeves?

Attached is a picture of my current setup.

NRL hunter setup - what would you do?

so I decided to build a dedicated NRL hunter competition build after shooting a factory Bergara in my first one and loving the style of competition. I have a Falkor 7even action on the way to build off of and can’t decide what to use for the rest of the gun. I don’t have a background in hunting and only picked up competition shooting about 2 years ago. I don’t really care wether my gun ends up in light or open class, just as long as it balances well.

Barrel - needing a do all steel contour. Thinking medium Palma may be good? Needs to handle strings of fire and be rigid enough for a suppressor on the end but don’t want a truck axle to walk around with. Also don’t know much about fluting…is it actually useful or a gimmick?

Chassis - XLR element for sure, but would the magnesium be hard to balance out with a steel barrel on the end?

Caliber - this one isn’t that big of a deal but just curious. For a NRL hunter/field style rifle which way would you go… 6.5 creedmoor which is tried and true or 25 creedmoor which with the new Berger offerings in 135 grains has a great BC to buck wind and actually has bullets available when I look online.

Barrel for a 16" Recce build?

Looking to finish off my 16" Recce build with a LPVO Sig tango. Naturally, the barrel that came to mind for this build was a Criterion Core... which is proving to be difficult like playing a game of cat and mouse.

Ideally, I would like to keep the weight down as I plan to be mobile with rifle for drills, carrying etc. Another option that came up that similar profile( minus the chrome lining) was Rainier Arms ultralight 223 Wylde barrel. Then of course I've looked at Faxon Gunner Match ( seems this is hit or miss literally) Or their fluted series.

Can you help a brother out and recommend a barrel before I break down from analysis paralysis. ?

Rifle Scopes Looking for Input on 2nd FP Eastern Whitetail Scope

Yeah, its another of those "this product or that product" threads....sigh. :ROFLMAO:

I'm not a big time deer hunter. I'm 71, live in MD, hunted waterfowl for a very long time (but now...screw those ice covered duck boats! haha), and once a year I get to hunt whitetails on my buddy's land in Georgia with box blinds, 200 yard shooting lanes, and feeders. Yep, country club hunting for the aged! LOL

Was down there recently for my once a year hunt and my Vortex Viper PST II (3-15) shit the bed. Its on a Rem 700 5R in .308. Its with Vortex now and I expect them to fix it or replace it but I got down there and the damn rifle was shooting 2' low and the elevation turret was binding!! Loss of zero would be an understatement. I do not want to trust this Viper on a hunt again, and frankly I don't think a 1st FP with a tree reticle was the best choice.

So, I'm thinking of replacing the Vortex. I'm a mil vet so I get pretty good discounts from Leupold and Europtics (for the Swarovski).

I'm looking at these two scopes and would be interested in anybody's first hand experience with them. Particularly, glass quality (brightness) and reliability in a hunting situation:

1. Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44

2. Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44
a. Alternative is VX-6HD in 3-18 either 44 or 50 (50 seems a bit big for a hunting rifle, no?)
Thank you

Barricade matches and “Possible” scores

Trying to determine the current thoughts on the level of difficulty in barricade matches.
How important is a “possible” score (no dropped points) where the winner is decided by time?
Let’s say you finished 3rd because you missed 2 targets, 2nd place missed 1, and the winner cleaned it, is this placement less in your mind than the fella who was the third of several to clean the course, but two others beat him on time?
Would a course be less favorable in your mind if it was next to impossible to clean or impact over say 90% without timing out?
