Beretta M12

After 4 months and enquiries from my Congressman to the ATF, I finally got my approved Form1 to build my SBR 9mm Beretta M12 . I carried an M12 while working with the Italian Special Forces, the Incursore from the 9th Regt "Col Moschin" . One of the few exercises where we carried live ammunition due to terrorist activity in the area.

Hunting & Fishing 300blk sucks for deer (graphic)

Just kidding, smoked this doe at 123 yards. It was a heckuva fun stalk. I jumped her up from where she was bedded, she ran about 250 yards and stopped. I dont think she actually saw me but heard me, she was looking around after her run run but settled back down after a few minutes. I kept as many trees as possible between her line of sight and me. I got to 123 yards (per my range finder). I watched her until she stood back up and dropped the hammer. Rem 700 with a 16" barrel. 125 grain Speer TNT (its a spicey load). Neck shot, dropped her in her tracks. The round completely destroyed her trachea, broke her neck and then blew out the other side. Unfortunately I think I need to reduce the load, it made an awful mess of her. Its a 3-day doe only firearm season, right in the middle of archery season 🙄

Wet Sloshing Brass

To FAFO, I placed a bunch of 5.56 brass into a plastic tub, added very hot water, lemon juice, and dawn. Used a slotted spatula to stir the cases around. In about 2 mins they were clean and shiny. WTF? No stainless steel pins, just sloshed around the mixture. I used cold water to rinse, shook the water out by handful batches and put on a cookie sheet in oven at 200 degrees for 20 mins to total dry.

Nothing is this easy. What am I missing here?

16.5" Carbon or Steel-seeking input

I'm looking to purchase a 16.5" .308 barrel to be run suppressed and used as a steel plinker, and occasionally as a compact tree stand hunting rifle.

My original thought was to go with a carbon barrel to have a thick profile for the threaded end while also being light. However, after doing some reading, I'm wondering if I should just go with a steel barrel since it's so short, perhaps in a Med. Palma profile.

What would you do if you were building such a rifle? Wondering how much real world weight savings there would be in such a short config, and if the extra expense for carbon would be worth it.

Also, what is the thinnest non-sporter profile steel barrel would you run with a suppressor on a short barrel?

SOLD Curtis valor with 223 barrel and 308 bolt.

Curtis valor action. With both 223 and 308 bolts. 223 barrel is brand new 28 inch bartlein 7 twist. It will also come with an action wrench. There is a dasher barrel on the action right now but it is shot out. If you want it you can have it if you don’t I can take it off. $2200 shipped to ffl
