Doughnuts. . .

Organic, free range, stress free stuff is expensive. Do you at least get to see someone with piercings and multicolored hair? Bonus for the nose ring.

Yeah. Local family donut place within walking distance of my place closed.

Nobody buyin $6 donuts when a 2 BR townhome (not even fancy) is 400k.
I'm surprised Amy's Donuts here in the springs is still open. Its like 30/dozen donuts here......dont know who can buy that shit.....

Doc

Literally everyone who's been through a basic highschool econ class could have told you this would be the result of $15/hr minimum wage.

Everyone makes more money....and the price of goods gets more expensive to compensate.....because that money needs to come from somewhere...

Is this downtown manhattan? Local shop here in Socal owned and operated by a Thai couple is 11 a dozen. Has been and still is. Probably doesn't pay his wife though.

Meanwhile SNAP benefits remain elevated about 300% since the beginning of COVID. People are being paid more than ever before not to work.

But, isn't it unfair for businesses to raise prices just because overhead increased?

I live a couple blocks from a 7-11. Last week I watched a lady buy her kid $42 in candy, chips and soda for dinner all paid for with SNAP/EBT benefits.

It gave me a stomach ache just watching

Unless it were the only thing left to eat, I would never spend 6 bucks on a stinkin donut.
30 dolla a dozen???
A fool and his money will soon part

That's alright, a few year ago I was behind a guy in the check out with 2 of his kids...all 3 of them were wearing thick ass gold chains and Jordans...they paid with EBT....and when they went to the parking lot, they got into a brand new top of the line Tundra and drove off.

.....fucking welfare state at work....

I saw a...woman with three rugrats use her arm to wipe all the ready made sandwiches from the shelf into a cart. Curious, I followed her to the checkout. Yep, EBT card.

Smells like diabetes in this thread.

42 bucks even at a convenience store would be a metric shit ton of chips and candy. You sure mom didn't have a bottle of Mad Dog in the mix?

It was a metric shit ton of sweets. Even had a couple slurpees in there too. Kid was probably 5 or 6 and already had blood type pudding. Mom looked like a meth head so she didn't have to worry about getting fat or her teeth rotting out because of the sugar. I suspect "boyfriend " or what ever father figure she has lingering around her subsidized apartment in his pajamas playing video games was probably the lucky recipient of half the crap she purchased with other people's money.

Felt bad for the kid 😕

@ LRI, $6.00/bacon donut....shoot, I got you fellas beat...and by a long shot...!

Local delicatessen bakery-fu-fu, is at 8.99 PER boutique donut.

2BR townhome, laffin at $400K and yes it's a fixer-up; don't forget HOA either. Gonna grip you for some more.

One up this, "regular" gas is knocking on 5.00/gal....AGAIN, I just paid 4.89

I only remember paying this high fuel costs when a Democrat was the CINC!

My wife makes some kick ass homemade long Johns. The frosting is the best maple I’ve had. Next time those fuckers are getting the pig candy treatment.
