    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

I was lined up for 300 yd Rapid practice at Ft. Bliss around 1962, waiting for Targets Up, when some wiseguy buzzed us at about 50 ft with a F105. Ten Garands immediately swung up and left, with the range officer screaming "Don't you dare, it's one of ours!"

    Kenyon 40x trigger

You can do a Kenyon style conversion to Win 52, by drilling a new pivot in the trigger, just about 3/8" higher than the existing trigger pivot. But you need a carbide drill, drill gently right through both the trigger and housing, while keeping the trigger immobile with the existing pivot in...

What's the deal with the fawwken used car market???

I'm really happy with my Honda CRV with 143K miles on it--hardly any rust underneath. Only thing I did to it was put on fog lights and wired the relay into the fuel pump circuit, so I have running lights now, and the fogs don't go off when hi beams are on--much nicer. 5 CD player gives me choice...

What's the deal with the fawwken used car market???

Might be a backlash on all the "new" technology crap the cars come with now. Touch screen? Screw that, just give me a radio/cd player with knobs and buttons, and a HVAC system with the knobs.

Maggie’s Seeing as it's Maggies Drawers Bar.....Anyone make Cider?

Way back when I was about 12, I found a jug of bubbly cider in Grandma's fridge at Easter. After a tall glass, I was bouncing of the walls. Grandma said she forgot she had it in there, from October---aunts and uncles quickly destroyed the evidence. Tasty, as I remember! Still planning on...

Maggie’s best bull shizzle someone told you and was serious

Way back when, there was a blog of a guy shooting a deer with a 12 lb Howitzer and canister shot. Skinned deer showed about 6-8 hits. Fellow that posted it said that if you try this, have a good camo cover for the cannon, and spread empty 12 ga slug shells around. If somebody investigates, just...

James Foley, an American journalist, Beheaded, French, Spanish, Journalists released

I won't watch the video. The scumbag didn't even do a proper muslim beheading, if that knife was used. I knew a Saudi who explained in detail, how a proper execution should be done with one stroke of a heavy sword. They are not even proper Muslims, these scum.

Anybody in NY need lead or lino??

Got about 150 lbs of lead, and a 35 lb linotype ingot. I still have enough other little ingots to totally destroy my shoulder in my Marlin 45=70, but the rest is up for grabs, if you live near Ulster county. PM me, the scrap man only will give me $.30/lb.

Old ammo - how old is too old

Just remember that most foreign ammo from the 1940s, and into the 50s had corrosive primers. US ammo corrosive primers had rounded tops, and the last ones were around 1953 for '06 AP ball, but all carbine ammo was non corro, even in WW2. Hot soapy water, followed by bore cleaner is needed to...

    Funniest/dumbest things while enlisted

Driving the officer of the guard around Ft. Dix rifle ranges at around 2 AM, the idiot Looie says I want to see if they're sleeping, go off the range road, and take it cross country thru the woods. I say sir, I want to point out they have three live rounds, and I don't want to spend the rest of...

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Bannermans had a store in NYC, that I bought 45-70 surplus carbine loads(405 gr lead, black powder, tin plated case, dated 1892) for $1.50 a box of 20, back in the 1950's. Hangfire about one in ten, but fun in my trapdoor!

    Subaru owners on the hide?

Got a used Forester for the wife--unstoppable in the snow, nice to drive. Only problem was in finding a used one that had less than 150000 miles on it--people in upstate NY keep them until the wheels fall off! Only problem is mice somehow got in, but a trap fixes that.

    "Enhanced"

I'm dying to know what she will say to her grandchildren about all that crap. People with lots of tats must not like themselves much, I believe.

    Maytag HAVC "WARNING"

Another +1 on the installer! I did construction management for NYC DEP in upstate ny, and the worst problems we had were with HVAC contractors. Took years to get systems running right, and threats of default. Of course these systems were over complicated, but check around town or get references.
