Hey all,

Been thinking about it for a while now. Maybe I should upgrade and get a better rifle. I have many, but the one I'm thinking about replacing is my howa in 6.5 CM. It's a prs style rifle and has served me well but every now and then, I get that itch about trying something better.

My 3 top contenders, in no order, are a t3x, a seekins hit, or an origin/nucleus.

I've heard seekins makes a very fine rifle and has some of the best customer service. I also really really like the rifle as it looks.

Tikka would certainly be an upgrade from my howa I believe. While shitty customer service, you can sometimes snag really good deals here so it might be worth it if there is really good deal to be had.

Origin or nucleus are absolute certain upgrades. Not really looking to spend on the higher end customs but these seem like good options.

All in all, I would prefer an action that barrels are easy to find for it. I'm not sure where that leaves the seekins, or what type of barrels it takes. I've seen many barrels for tikkas here on the PX so that tells me they're pretty common for the tikka. I've even found some pretty good deals that I've almost bought a barrel before just in case I ever got a tikka. Origin and Nucleus seem to be popular actions but I'm unaware of how easy it is source barrels for those. I think I've seen more aftermarket barrels for tikka here than for these two customs. Any thoughts?

Before I forget, the "risers" for the NV cap are also included, I just forgot to include them in the pics.

Unfortunately right now I have other priorities to tend to so my prs rimfire rifle is on the block. Action was bought in 2021 and has roughly 30k rounds on it but runs flawlessly. Barrel is a 23 inch Krieger 1-16 with a custom contour close to a MTU threaded with a EC Tuner v1 I’ve had for over 2 years, it loves center x 28xxx. Trigger is a Triggertech primary at about 2 lbs. Chassis is a MDT ACC Elite with 3 bridges, black jellies and 1 internal chassis weight. Most of all chassis bolt heads were sprayed with matte black rustoleum. Comes with a bunch of spare parts and 2 mags (pictured)

Apparently these are out of stock until the Spring. I had it in a LaRue PredatOBR which I only shot from the bench, so it's not like a heavy use AR-15 Charging Handle. On that point - as everyone probably knows, this will NOT work in an AR-15. AR-10s only. It's a "MOD4" which means medium-sized latch. Plenty to grab onto, but it's not like some of the crazy large latches that basically snag on everything.

I have an older Remington 700 short action that was made into a Darpa-ish XM-3 clone. The action was sent off to Chad at LRI to have the Clip Slot done, Ejection port opened up, Bolt timed, advanced & Tig'ed, firing pin bushed, bolt body fluted, double pinned oversized titanium recoil lug and it is a switch-barrel. 20" 6.5 Sherman Short Mag and 18.5" .308 Win. in a McMillan Stock

I'm breaking in the 6.5 SS barrel now, 100 rounds in and I want to feed from the magazine now. It seems that ammo loaded out to the max length of the AICS magazine is getting stuck underneath a sort of "feed ramp". I adjusted the magazine feed lips for the AICS 300 WSM magazines and the rounds will not tip-up towards the chamber. They are held down by the steel "feed ramp" of the action. Suggestions and recommendations??? Unfortunately I'm up against the clock and wanted to take the rifle up to PA for a late September shoot.

Finally got a chance to take her out to the range. 300 yards.

Did a deep cleaning with Thoroclean. Basically polished to 95% new.

First 5 shots were a vertical ladder. 1 inch POI shift downwards each round. Didn’t have the chrono running on those. Seems like it went super fast then slowed down.

After 5-7 shots she stabilized and was rock solid. We had some swirling wind from behind us so I am pretty happy with the results.

These wee factory 140 ELDM. Will start hand loading once I ahoot through my lot.

One of these is a 4 shot group as I miss loaded.
