I'm selling a discontinued, rare, mint complete factory LaRue 6.5 Grendel Cerakoted FDE rifle. This is not one of the ultimate upper kits, this was the first complete Grendel rifle they sold. I'm the original owner and it was purchased directly from LaRue. It's an absolute laser and will do 1/2 MOA 5 shot groups with quality ammo. It has well under 300 rounds through it, all slow fired with mainly low-charge hand loads. It's this one:

just posting this here because there was no prior knowledge on the forum:


I purchased a Cabela's CX pro spotter 20-60x86 due to the very clear glass (Better than the Vortex viper spotters).

It has the same lockup for the eyepiece as the Viper spotter, so I purchased the viper MRAD reticle from vortex with intent to use it together.



It is compatible, but unfortunately the scale of the reticle is off by ~15%, making it not very usable.

Great spotting scope if you aren't in need of a reticle, but functionally useless for this purpose. (especially if you work at Cabela's and get an employee discount as I do)

It took a little while for me to publish this video due to a back issue I've been having, but I finally got it out.

This one takes a look at the basics of mirage, and how it can impact your POI. You guys who regularly shoot in the desert probably know this and will laugh at us uninitiated, but I usually shoot in the hills where we don't get mirage that impacts our POI... or do we?

Had a perfect tuna trip yesterday - we went out of Venice, LA, with Go Long Charters (https://www.golongcharters.com/) - beautiful 42' Freeman catamaran with quad 300's, ran 280 miles total, 140 miles to their secret hunting grounds - hooked 10 sea pigs, AKA yellowfin tuna, landed 8, one I caught topwater wasn't a keeper. - easy ride on a smooth boat at ~ 40, 45 mph. Literally hooked up on the first cast and caught all of them within 3 hours in one spot then turned around and headed home, ended up with 190 lbs of tuna meat. Couldn't have asked for a better day - my twins first tuna fishing experience set their bar high.

Can't say enough good about Go Long and Captain Alex, on time, super professional, the best I've ever seen with regard to being patient with clients and keeping lines clear considering how many times he hooked us up on 2 at once. I will chose them again without a second thought.

I have two nikon products that I need service for , what are my options, I know nikon has stopped making rifle scopes but does that mean no service on older products, one is a 6x20 monarch fine cross hair target scope that the cross hair has rotated or come loose , the other is binocular 10x50 monarch that needs new eye cups, both these items are over 12 years old bought the scope used ,but did get the original box so it might be older than 12 yrs, not having any luck with Google search. TIA.

It works equally well in the field or office and has features like a tuckable/hideaway waist belt (like some of the Mystery Ranch packs). It includes all accessories to include their “weapons sleeve” (for a computer or folded SBR), packing cubes (made to fit the pack exactly) as well as an admin module for pens and small items. Looking at barrel vises for changing out some prefits. I will be using 1.20 and 1.25 blanks. Will the viper work on those larger barrels. Their website says yes, Brownells say no. I’ll start calling around tomorrow but wanted to get some first hand experience on what y’all use.

I did a search but came up empty.

When you are shooting to test load development, do you discard your cold bore shot?

I ask this because I have noticed that my proof CF 308 barrel has a tendency to send the first shot almost 2" up and left from the rest of the shots. It is so consistant that I can use Kentucky Windage to correct for it most of the time.

Yesterday I tested some 155 TMKs and some 195 TMKs using Varget and BLC(2). I ran the 155s first and got some incredible groups and perhaps the best SD of my life....5! The lowest and highest charge weights shot the best, .301 and .515 respectively. However, on that first shot I did not think to correct for the cold shot and it was a full 2" high and left.

After finishing that string I let the rifle cool for an hour and repeated with the 195s but did compensate for the difference. Boom, it landed dead into the bullseye.

In the future I may just fire a plinking round to settle everything in before proceeding.

I switched to the AB Quantum app with the calypso mini AB and instantly have shot 10% better in PRS. It feels like switching from DOS to Windows 11. If you don’t already own a kestrel 5700 Elite ($769) you can buy the Calypso mini an ($315 Walmart) and pay $29.99 a year for the Quantum pro app.

What am I missing here?

Just woke up to a weather alert, looks like another flood event in texas , over 8 inches of rain has fallen in the last 4 hrs , lake buchanan is still 5ft below the spillway but that might change before the day is over , that 8 inches is at bend about 10 miles above lake buchanan , hope the weekend campers along the river evacuate in time cause this could end up like kerrville all over again, pray for texas we need it , lord help us.
