Precision Rifle Gear Matrix Pro/2 Billet Full Length Bridge EOI

Hey guys,

After the success of the ACC Elite and Premier G2 top covers (https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/mdt-acc-elite-full-length-bridge-eoi.7197560/), I had a few mates ask about a Matrix Pro/2 covers.

Now my buddy John is a guru in the modeling department, and has made some concept models. Should fit the Vanquish too afaik.

Much like the Elite thread, just testing the waters to see if there is much interest. There’s a bit more material and machining in these compared to the ACC covers, so want to make sure they’re worth pursuing.

At this point I’m leaning towards the top option, or maybe the bottom. Obviously the more machine time the more cost, so I’m trying to be mindful of that.

Anyway lads, let me know your thoughts.

Had myself a "1911 Day" the past week.

In hindsight, I wouldn't try to do it as "big" as I did but in the lineup... I had:

A Colt 1911 Limetid Edition:

A Colt CCU model...

1747021406300.png

3 Stainless Ed Browns (CCO, Kobra Carry, & Kobra)

1747021453291.png

A "blued" Ed Brown Special Forces....

1747021495017.png

I also brought my 10mm DW Specialist into the mix...

1747021650237.png

So to summarize the day, that'd be...

-Colt 1911 "Limited Edition" in 45 ACP.
-Colt 1911 "CCU" in 45 ACP.
-Ed Brown CCO (in 45 ACP with 'snakeskin' treatment)
-Ed Brown Kobra Carry in 45 ACP
-Ed Brown Kobra (5") in 45 ACP
-Dan Wesson Specialist in 10mm

All told- I'd say about 600 rounds were fired in about 2.5 hours through theses guns using magazines from EB, Colt, WC, CM and not one failure from the 1911's. The ammunition was also a mix of factory round ranging from WWB, S&B, and AE in 230g from the 45's and the 10mm was exclusively 180g FMJ from (of all companies) Sig Sauer. But once again, despite a mix of magazines & ammunition, not one single problem (and they were run relatively hard).

I also ran about 150 rounds (Winchester 124g NATO) through the HK P30 & P30L...

Now in that "testing" I actually did run into an issue once- during one of the 1st mags through the P30L, the slide failed to lock back after the last round. Honestly- I'm not sure whether it was due to "break-in" or whether my fingers were inadvertently actuating the slide release lever but It only happened during one of the earlier magazines, didn't happen afterwards, BUT it did happen.

I don't think I have pictures handy but I also ran 100 rounds of 124 & 147g AE through my G3 G19 (I've discussed it previously but long story short I had a new barrel to make sure worked) and also ran about 100 rounds of 124g AE through my "new" Springfield SA-35.

Also no mechanical/functual problems through either the G19 or SA-35 however- It took about 8 magazines through the SA-35 for me to figure out the sights/POA/POI and while reliable was a bit humbling initially.

How do you note your rifles current zero setting when storing a rifle?

How do you note the current zero yardage of your rifle when storing it between range days?
For instance:
If I take my 6.5 hottness and confirm zero @100yds then go to 600 and 100yds banging steel, when the day is should I pull out all the wind and elevation and leave it at 100yds Zero?
Or do you leave it at the 600yd zero or 1000yd zero? (which is my preference but does not account for changing wind)
I normally leave mine zeroed @ 600 elevation and whatever wind hold I had remaining.
But I was thinking that this "stored setting" is also related to the amount of wind on that day shooting 600, and the temperature of that day at 600 and so on...
So technically it would be more accurate to at the end of the day go back to 100yds with Zero elevation and wind (basically take out the environmental conditions that existed at range last time)
When leaving it at 600, on my next range visit I just do a hold under value to confirm yardage at 100 plate (disregard wind), then start shooting at the 600 berm.

So do ya'll just go back to zero each time? or note what yardage(and possibly wind, temp etc..) it is left zeroed for?

Bell & Carlson Stock; need some insight

Picked this up locally, and I’m pretty sure it’s a Bell & Carlson “Supreme Rifle Stock.”
I can’t find a ton of info about it online. It is for a Remington 700 with hinged floor plate bottom metal, has a bedding block, and is bedded for a factory 700 action.

Was curious if my findings are correct, if this is the Supreme from B&C, and any idea what they’re selling for these days?
I’m probably going to list it for sale, since I don’t have much use for it.

Thanks in advance.

They have been babied and only used a handful of times on my back porch doing some bird watching.

Includes factory box and everything you would get as new.

Looking for Erik Cortina-style Expanding Mandrel Die for .300 Norma Magnum – Alternatives?

I’ve been using the Erik Cortina expanding mandrel die setup for my 6.5 PRC with excellent results—particularly in eliminating “clickers” by addressing the lower part of the case that standard full-length dies typically miss.

Unfortunately, this system isn’t available for .300 Norma Magnum yet. I reached out to the company directly, and they confirmed it’s in the works but not currently offered. I’m in need of a comparable solution now.

Has anyone seen or used a similar expanding mandrel system that works for .300 NM and addresses the web area of the case?

Also, are there any standard full-length sizing dies (Redding, Forster, Micron, etc.) that are known to size all the way down to or below the .200” line on the case?

Would appreciate any leads or first-hand experience. Thanks in advance.
