Tripod sandbag question

Hey guys, for those of you that run an attached sandbag on top of your tripod like the cole-tac for instance, do you run it with or without a head?

I'm sure it's prob possible run it with a head but it seems like that would be weight for nothing.

Do you really need the ball feature when you have a flexible sandbag?

Can you attach something like this directly to the tripod without a head and is it a good idea?

Tim Walz thinks he’s a baddass

Tim Walz claimed that his “ masculinity” intimidates MAGA during a podcast with Gavin Newscum.

Former WWE wrestler and current Tennessee mayor Cain challenged Timmy to a wrestling match.

I would love to see Timmy get wrecked & humiliated by Cain, or anyone else for that matter

Remington 700 Clone action help

Hello everyone,

I am looking to build a rifle in an MDT ESS Chassis with the full rail forend and it requires the MDT High Scope Base in order for the fore end and scope base picatinny to line up correctly.

I was initially going to buy a barreled action from IBI (Ultimatum Deadline action). Both companies are in Canada so it makes it easier for me. The problem is when I called them was they told me the MDT Base will not work on the Deadline as they said a Remington rail will not fit a deadline because the tops of both actions are different. I was thinking about seeing if I can get the measurements and drill new holes in the MDT base if the dimensions would allow it but it would be a hassle. The Deadline outer diameter is 1.358" +/- .010 so that may work, from what I've read online the Rem 700 action is 1.35.

Why don't I just get a Rem 700 action? Well multiple reasons. I do not want a 90 degree bolt throw and I do not want an open top receiver. 70 degree or less and a closed top receiver is what I am looking for. By closed top I mean I just want an ejection port, nothing more. Even the Bergara premier actions are too "open".

My question is, are there any actions that are Rem 700 footprint, same receiver height, no integrated rail, same scope base screw dimensions, 70 degree or less bolt throw and are not open top? Icing on the cake would be a fluted bolt.

Most companies I have been looking at do not specify anything other than their action is a Rem 700 footprint.

AXSR action bolts issue

Looks like I potentially found the issue with my AXSR not performing as expected.
Was having weird results at the range that I thought were just ammo related but yesterday while swapping the barrel I noticed I could move it side to side out at the end of the hand guard and the entire upper receiver was pivoting on the lower half of the receiver.

Found a few loose action bolts and torqued everything but the movement persisted. It appears from inspection that all the bolts are bottoming out in the receiver bolt holes without clamping load on the lower half.
Spoke to Mile High and AINA and it’s going in for warranty.

SOLD Eotech Vudu 1-8 HC3 Reticle

Eotech Vudu 1-8 HC3 in an Aero Precision ultralight mount.
This is an awesome LPVO is excellent glass clarity. It’s the first 1-8 LPVO that I’ve had that was executed well enough to be worth having a 1-8 vs 1-6. Easy on to get behind. I’ve taken my AR with it to the 1,000 yard range to shoot while my bolt gun barrel is cooling off. A few others have looked through it and were also amazed at the clarity on distance targets.

Only selling because I just bought a Kahles K18i.

$850 shipped with the Aero Precision mount.
$780 shipped with out the mount.

Marlin 336 SBL lever action came home with me

This past weekend I stumbled across this new Marlin 336 SBL (.30-30 Win) at a local gun shop that I was checking out. I've always been a fan of the stainless Marlin 336 rifles but never saw one on a shelf. This one came home with me. Since it's already threaded for 5/8-24, I mocked it up with my TBAC Ultra 5 for the moment to check it out, but the shoulder at the muzzle appears to be too small (.680 inch) per TBACs requirements (.750 inch). So, I'll have to have it re-threaded for 9/16-24 and get the appropriate adapter from TBAC. Super excited to get it out and shoot it!

The 9th Circus Delivers Again

In 2017 the Honorable Judge Benitez ruled against California's magazine ban in Duncan v. Bonta and gave California residents "Freedom Week". The 9th Circus quickly put that order on hold and played all kinds of games until the case finally reached the Supreme Court in 2022. The Supreme Court decided Bruen in 2022 so sent Duncan back to the 9th with orders to "reconsider in light of Bruen".

In 2023 Judge Benitez again found that the magazine ban was unconstitutional. The 9th then played all kinds of games including some very unusual procedural shenanigans to ensure that the magazine ban stood. Well today the 9th once again ruled that under the Bruen standard that magazines can be banned as they aren't "arms" or "protected accessories" and thus unprotected by the Second Amendment. Secondly, even if magazines are "arms" they can be restricted under the American tradition "of protecting innocent persons by prohibiting especially dangerous uses of weapons and by regulating components necessary to the firing of a firearm."

None of this shit is real, logical, or supported by current Second Amendment jurisprudence. So now we get to wait for the Supreme Court to finally decide if being told "go fuck yourself, we will do what we want" by lower courts is enough to warrant them doing some work or if the Second Amendment is indeed a second class right.

So, don't get complacent if you don't live in California because once this shit starts happening it takes forever to fight against it. Right now we are 8 years into this and no closer to getting it resolved than when we started.

Fouling past the case neck

Well...I am officially stumped!!!
I use the 6.5cm sac sizing die with .285" shoulder/neck bushing and .2625" expander mandrel with alpha munitions ocd LRP brass. When I shoot my zermatt origin action with proof ss prefit barrel and oss suppressor I always get a ton of fouling that goes past neck down to the bottom of the shoulder and sometimes past that. Ive tried everything to fix it and nothing works..different bushings/expander mandrels I bump the shoulder back .002". I just just got in a new batch of alpha brass and the necks on some were messed up so I ran them all through my sac sizing die that way I always to make sure my shoulder is set where it normally is (I've got a tight chamber) after i did that I went and shot some and the fouling stayed on the neck and didn't go past that onto the shoulder and further. I cant figure out what's different. Everything reloading wise is the same. gear is the same only thing difference is that's its new brass but I did resize it all before using it and with all my brass I always anneal before resizing ( not with the new brass). Can anyone tell me what the heck is happening and how I can correct it so my fouling isn't going past the necks and into my.chamber anymore. What made the new brass different even with the sizing being the same.
Thanks all,
Justin
1st pic is brass with multiple firings. 2nd is new and sized brass

Price info on LC match 308 brass

Have come across a potential buy of Lake City match 308 brass. Some is virgin, some 1x fired and rest is no more than 3x fired. What is a fair market price per 100, 500 and 1000 count or is it by the piece across the board. I recently got into 308 and all I own is from here. Starline SRP brass and mixed HS LC brass no match. I will be googling as well to see what I can find but asking here from the veterans.

Redfield 3-9 Cerakote

So I found a 1” marked gen 1 for my M40 build. It has the glass in the ocular cracked so I decided to try cerakote instead of waiting on someone to start anodizing again. I used the sniper green color. It turned out pretty good I think. Now I’ll send to Mike at Iron Site and get it refurbed with a mildot reticle. Getting closer!
