semi-budget (<$2k) PRS rifle scope

Ok, so unlike a semi-tone kind of life, I'd like to figure out recommendations on an optic for a PRS rifle I'll be building. Right now, all of my optics are more budget. I've got a few Athlons (2 x Cronus - though one is the LPVO and Ares ERT), a Trijicon Accupower (LPVO, but I like it better than almost any other LPVO, including hte stupid Accupoint), a Vortex LHT - lovely glass), and some cheaper crap I'm not bothering to list (and like a gazillion red dots and magnifiers). But I'm looking for advice on the best optic I can get for sub-$2k (with a normal sale, not a freak once every 15 years sale). My priorities are eye relief and clarity of glass in the center. Less worried about CA, specifics of reticle (any tree will do, and to be honest, I'd be fine with a perfect german + reticle with marks in mils, I tend to dial windage too).

I know this is ambiguous, but I just can't see myself ever going for the top glass (I'm too cheap value minded).

Cheers!

EDIT: Not looking for used. This is street priced. Obviously if I somehow found a $3k+ optic on sale for $1900, it would be a no brainer.

Lyman Gen 6 electronic powder dispenser

Bought one of these units for $270 back in 2020 or 2021. Used it for a couple years. It was decent... Resolution was +/- .1 grain. Nothing too fancy. But it was easy to clean and empty out powder and change to a different one. Pretty user friendly.

Then it shit the bed on me. I suspected the load cell went bad. Figured I was up the creek and set it on the shelf, bought something else, and moved on.

My wife, being the frugal person she is, asked me about it a few months back. I told her it was shot and dropped the issue. She emailed Lyman and told them the issue. They told her they had had some issues with load cells and wanted us to send it in.

So we packed it up and shipped it back... At our expense... And I was skeptical about what would come of it.

Lo and behold, it arrived in the mail today. Load cell was replaced and the unit was tested and they included the test documentation.

So, I had to pay shipping one way. But Lyman stood behind their product. Fixed it. And shipped it back to me.

In today's market I didn't expect much. But I felt it was fair to give Lyman and their customer service credit for standing behind their product.

Suppressors Liberty Precision Machine Muzzle Brake End Cap

A buddy was just telling me that LPM released their Muzzle Brake End Cap today... looks like they're offering them for their LPM cans, Dead Air & showing the OCL Infinity coming soon. Hadn't seen any mention of it here yet but might be of interest for the PRS/comp guys!

ARC Precision Ultimate Annealer

Im in the market for a whole new precision setup. I've only previously reloaded straight wall pistol on a 650 so this is process I've never had to implement.

An annealer is one piece of the puzzle that I am planning on getting. Particularly the AMP Anneler.

Just saw this being listed on a few reloading vendors.

AAC Tirant 45M

I just picked up an AAC Tirant 45M and the piston spring that came with it will not fit around a M16x1RH AAC piston. In addition to that, the piston itself has threads so deep/long that it actually touches the face of my MK23.

I looked around online and found that a Silencerco piston spring will work on the AAC. So I grabbed a spare spring I had from my Octane and it does indeed fit and everything screws together correctly. Which is how I saw that the piston hits the face of the MK23.

I compared the AAC piston to the Silencerco version I had and they appear to be identical, except it’s actually physically longer but has a shallower thread. I put the Silencerco piston and spring in the AAC and everything tightens up as expected and the piston does not hit the face of the MK23.

So my question is, is it ok to use this configuration? I can’t find anything online about it other than the spring being ok.

Nightforce 5-25x56

Hello all

I’m thinking about switching out my Nightforce Atacr 4-16x42 to a 5-25x56 for hunting. I’ve used the 4-16 for a bunch of years now and killed a pile of critters, but lately I’ve felt like I’d like to have a little more zoom. I know they aren’t very light, it doesn’t bother me though. I’m in somewhat decent shape😂. I’m also a big fan of the Mil-R reticle.

Do any of you use the Atacr 5-25 for hiking and hunting? If so I’d sure appreciate some feedback back.

Thanks in advance
Bob
