Anyone familiar with the pillar bedding offered by Boyd's with their stocks?

I'm looking to purchase a stock for a precision project with a M700 or clone action and am considering a Boyd's stock. I always epoxy pillar bed my actions with homemade 1/2" or 7/16" diameter aluminum pillars. Boyd's offers installing pillars on an ordered stock for an additional $68. I can't find any info on their website with details of this service. If these pillars are well installed and functional, $68 would save a lot of work. Has anyone had this done that could provide an opinion and/or images of their pillar bedding job? Thanks.

22 GT Barrel Help

I need help selecting a 22 GT (or maybe 22 CM) shouldered prefit.

It will be primarily for calling coyotes. Planning on 18” length and using bullets in the 65-80gr range.

Twist rate: 1:8? Would this be ideal for my chosen bullets? And maybe still shoot decent if I did load some of the 52/53 gr?

Bore diameter: .218 or .219?

Rifling: 4 groove, 5R?

I’m planning to go through either PVA or straight jacket armory mostly because of the ease of online ordering and I’ve read enough good things about both.

Barrel MFG options I’m looking at are PVA osprey, CRB, Bartlein, and just the standard tier 1 match prefits from SJA (not sure what mfg blanks those are using).

I’m sure they’d all shoot great but if I’m about to spend $800-900 on this barrel I want to get it right the first time.

New guy from just outside Boston (I know, MA booooo)

Hello folks,

New guy here, live in the greater Boston area. Just starting to get my feet wet with Long Range and excited to learn from the content here.

I have just one AR so far (MCX 16") and my plan is to pick up an LRP-07 shortly to get into longer range precision shooting. If you are in the greater Boston area, send a shotout, i'd love to talk shop with folks more knowledgeable (or hell, evein the same boat) as me!

How do you handle rude folks in a coffee shop who won’t take their phone

…Outside?

Local coffee shop and several of us old guys have a hard time hearing each other at our table.

Some tourist comes in and starts yakking on their phone in their outside voice at a nearby table.

They get the War Chief treatment. Full blast. Works every time .

SOLD RimX w/ 22” Ace Manzella, Spuhr SICS chassis

Up for sale is my RimX build, pre 2000 serial. Going a different route and focusing more on centerfire.
  • 22” 1:16 ACE Blank, finished by Manzella with Eachus chamber
  • TT Diamond single stage flat trigger
  • Spuhr SICS chassis with adjustable bag rider and 6x external weights
  • 1x RimX mag with +5 extension
Rifle shoots CenterX sub .3 consistently, I’ve been shooting Eley Match around .3, have Eley and standard extractors, extra tensioners and small parts as well. Rifle is balanced pretty much perfectly as it sits, I’ve shot 2 matches with this setup and the SICS is easily my favorite chassis.

Barreled action with mag only $2000 shipped
Complete rifle as seen $3500 shipped
PayPal F&F, Venmo F&F only

Rifle is truly a no excuses setup, I jumped in head first to rimfire and want to devote more time to centerfire.

Please, no trades.

POTUS Joint Address to Congress

I can't count the number of ways we are winning.
  1. Throwing that utter POS Al Green out for being disrespectful was just awesome. I would have taken that gold headed cane and stuck it up his ass after beating him to a bloody pulp
  2. Watching Pelosi not knowing what to do.
  3. Watching the Democrats with their little protest signs. I bet David Hogg thought that up

Which Chassis and Why?

I have been shooting a Bergara for NRL 22 and want to upgrade to a Vudoo eventually but don't want to spend that much at the moment.... So I was thinking I could buy the chassis now and use it for the B14 for now, then get a Vudoo Barreled action later.

Not sure if that's the best plan, but seems logical while sitting here with my 1st drink of the night..

I would like to know what more experienced shooters think and then which chassis... I was looking at MPA and MDT but don't have any experience with either but I really want to look cool, even if I don't hit anything. :)

Heavy bolt lift when theres no over pressure

I have a left handed zermatt origin action, proof s.s. pre-fit in 6.5cm, Triggertech special trigger, acc elite chassis. Oss 7.62 hx qd suppressor. Using hornady 140gr match, h4350 (39.8gr) so not a high velocity load (2720s), cci #200, alpha ocd LRP brass about .002" shoulder bump. I will randomly get heavy bolt lift and when I do the neck of the brass extracts dented in. Thats with slow extraction so the denting is happening during initial bolt lift or during chambering but I've sat there and cycled loaded rds a ton and they never have issues so im thinking it's happening during bolt lift or something. I can't figure out what's causing the bolt lift problems with no where near signs of pressure. Ive cleaned the chamber really good and it'll be fine for a bit then it'll start happening randomly again but it'll be like one round then no issues then another random rd with heavy bolt lift. Anyone have an idea what would cause this. I just purchased a borescope and it'll be here in a day but I dont think there's anything in the chamber bc its random rounds then it'll extract fine. Yesterday I took my rifle apart so I could see in the barrel and there's wasn't anything wrong with it. I cleaned it really well and rebuild my rufle and it happened again today with random flyers. It just started and wasn't doing this until yesterday. Itll do it even with a clean barrel and like 10 rds through it. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Optics Vortex Razor HD AMG 6-24x50 MOA

Selling my Vortex AMG in MOA. I would describe it as good condition and the lenses are pristine. It shows signs of typical wear (faint ring marks, etc) but it did just get back from Vortex HQ for a deep cleaning. Comes with everything that came in the original box except for the Objective flip cap. Not a clue where that thing went.

Coup De Grace action for reloaders?

Apologies in advance if this is common knowledge, but I can't seem to find it anywhere in the CDG discussions.

As a lifetime reloader, I have always been using bolt lift effort and ejector swipe marks (on the case head) as early pressure indicators when working up new loads.

Does the pivoting handle and mechanical ejector (lesser so) of the CDG action prevent me from using these methods, or are there still other obvious indicators regardless of these novel design changes?

Inquiring purchaser wants to know . . .

Thanks
