QC Action Choice

I have been doing a ton of research and I feel like I am drinking from a fire hose. This post will probably go the same way. I am wanting a quality bolt action that I can get prefits for. I have narrowed it down to impact, terminus, and Curtis. I could be missing some but that’s what I found. My thought is to get a couple barrels and could swap them out here and there.

I have started rimfire PRS so the thought would be maybe a 223 Wylde trainer barrel then season starts a 6GT or creed.

Any suggestions. Is swapping 223 to 6.5 even feasible. Figured I would get some thoughts.

Edit- to clarify the feasibility. I was more thinking changing calibers/ barrels during the season. I get the feasibility of actually doing it. Bolt face and barrel etc. I am more looking for yeah I do that and it’s a good idea or that’s dumb. Takes more time than it’s worth just have 2 actions.

Just a refresher- not the first of the nation wide DUI for profit arrests but one of the first ones to work its way through the Justice industry .

Kids life has been fucked up since 2022 over this fucking bullshit .
Now his charges have been dropped and the pigs that did this stripped of qualified immunity.

License temporary suspension, fucked up his scholarships , cost employment and I can’t imagine what his legal bills have been the last 3 years .

So some pigs can get free pizza of gift cards for hitting that quota

Scale drift issues

I have an old Lyman 500 and a rcbs digital scale. I was loading some 308 yesterday, and the rcbs was being a pain in the ass. So I checked it against the Lyman, and it was consistently 0.2 high. It would read 44.9 when the Lyman beam would read 44.7. Unfortunately the check weights that came with the RCBS 50grams and the Lyman only goes to 505. So I finished reloading using the beam and left the rcbs on all night. Went into my loading room this am, and zeroed both out, dumped 0.2 into the Lyman pan, then dumped that powder into the rcbs and it would not even read the 0.2. Upped it to 0.4 on the Lyman and then into the rcbs and it read 0.3. Is the rcbs unit faulty? I really want an electric dispenser for my precision rounds, but now I am nervous about getting one. Any suggestions?

MPA Matrix Pro II vs the Vanquish

Advice requested on last minute reconsiderations regarding the chassis selection for an MPA PMR rifle on order: Matrix Pro II vs the Vanquish.

I chose the latest iteration of the Matrix, the Pro II, but now I am thinking of changing the work order I sent to MPA to specify the Vanquish instead. Would like to know thoughts from those who have used either, and especially those who have used both.

At this point 3 considerations steer me toward the Vanquish:

1) The Vanq has a more manageable forend than the mile wide Matrix Pro II.

2) Out of the box, the Vanq has more mass in the forend. That may possibly save me from having to add additional weights out front, keeping the overall rifle weight down.

3) I like running an over the bore bipod when shooting non PRS from a bench or ELR prone, which necessitates pic rail attachment on the segments that fit onto the top of the forend of the chassis, over the barrel. That is not an
option for the segments that fit the Matrix Pro II, as far as I can tell, while it is for the Vanquish.

Thoughts, anyone? Any advice much appreciated. I will be using the rifle for some PRS along with general ELR fun time shooting. Maybe kill a deer or hog or coyote too.

MPA BA Comp night vision bridge issue

Its a little tight, I can get card stock between the barrel and the top of the bridge but I dont know if its enough. I'm thinking of getting some gasket material from Napa in the morning to make shims. Eventually the rifle will be rebarreled when I kill the current barrel. Gasket material shims be good enough to get me some clearance and keep the bridge steady enough when I use a friends gear?
