Firearms ***SOLD*** S&W Classic 629-44mag

Gently loved 44 mag in Stainless. Purchased to build a deer hunter. Bought Kenai rig and the works only to find the same model with a 7.5" barrel and a pretty minty leupy scope already mounted and ready to hunt. Don't need two, so my loss is your gain...

This big N-frame beast here:

Sweet shooter and 100 yards one-handed wasn't difficult with irons on a 10" gong in SA.

1 Box of factory ammo has been sent through. You can have the brass with it.

$850 shipped to your FFL. FFL must accept transfers from private individuals or buyer pays FFL fees on seller end. FTF Sale in Pittsboro, Apex or Sanford, NC and I'll knock off $25.

Badlands "Shell Shock" 5.56 - snake oil?

Hey guys, can anyone here explain the difference between the rounds in the video/links below, and normal steel case ammo? Is Badlands just loading extra-hot (maybe dangerously hot) steel-case 5.56 and trying to hype it for higher profit margins? I tried to link the Youtube video to where the host notes that the case is "nickel alloy stainless case," but how metallurgically different is that from...say...Tula or Brown Bear cases, or the steel-case 77gr OTM that AAC was selling a few months ago on the Palmetto State Armory website?

I'm also suspicious of his FGMM 77gr velocity numbers from the 10.3 barrel. He shoots a 5-round group, but shots 2, 3, and 4 are cut from the video, and the last shot is suspiciously higher than the average, while the first shot is suspiciously low. It seems like a fairly extreme spread for that ammunition.

Oh, also: Badlands wants $1.45/round for these "Shell Shock" this 77gr OTM rounds (https://badlandsmunitionsco.com/product/556-nas3-77gr-sierra-match-king/), so the statement at 0:00:15 that it is "the same price as your brass 5.56" is an outright lie. Just one more red flag to call out.

There are probably more nits to pick too, but those are the ones that jumped out at me first. Does this activate anyone else's Spidey senses? Do we have any history/reason to trust that this guy is an honest broker of information? Am I missing a major reason to buy the hype here?

AB Quantum App Issue

Has anyone experienced an issue where from the Shoot, Ballistics Calibration screen, you define/add a DSF, select "Use DSF", but it does not change the solution (elevation) to reflect the change? For instance, with my .22 at 200 yards, Elevation is 6.21. I enter the actual drop in DSF of 5.5, then hit Use DSF and the solution does not reflect 5.5. I checked the DSF table, and the entry is there. Sometimes, if I select Environment, then get temp for example it will then update correctly. Other times it won't. Seems random.

Thanks

Hornady 3-1 vs. other automated case trimmers?

I’m considering upgrading my brass trimming setup and am particularly interested in the Hornady 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer. Its capability to trim, chamfer, and deburr simultaneously sounds appealing.

However, since I reload for 10+ rifles and regularly add more calibers, having a trimmer that doesn’t require constant purchases of separate caliber-specific attachments is very important to me.

I’d greatly appreciate hearing from reloaders who have experience with the Hornady unit:
  • How precise and consistent is it across multiple calibers without additional attachments?
  • Is caliber changeover quick and convenient?
  • Have you encountered any significant limitations or issues
Also, if you’ve used other top-end automated trimmers like the Giraud Power Trimmer or the Mark 7 Power Trim Xpress, how does the Hornady compare in terms of ease of use, flexibility (particularly regarding caliber changes), and overall satisfaction?

Thanks in advance—I appreciate your insights!

Firearms 2 Browning O/U shotguns

525 Sporting
This is one of the best feeling guns I've had my hands on. It's right handed with a palm swell. It just don't fit me like I want it to. I've shot it a few rounds of sporting clays and have really enjoyed shooting it. It's a super nice gun with some handling marks as just about any wood gun you use will have.
32" Rhino Ported barrels
Adjustable comb with the spacers and tools
Adjustable trigger
Has a kickeez recoil pad that could probably stand to be replaced, it's getting a little soft.
Gun will come with 7 muller chokes. That's about $800 in chokes alone…
2-U0
2-U1
2-U2
1-U3
Asking $2250 shipped for it

Ultra sport plus
This gun is also super nice. I've shot it a few rounds of skeet and sporting and I have the same problem with it. It just don't fit like I want it to. This gun shoots like a dream with little recoil even with the 1 1/8oz 1250s. I know, not usually what you get with a browning lol
It's right handed with no palm swell. It also has a few bumps but nothing major at all.
32" Rhino Ported barrels
Adjustable comb
Adjustable trigger
Decelerator pad on it
This gun comes with 6 factory gold ring chokes.
1-skt
1-ic
2-IM
2-F
Asking $1850 ahipped for it

I personally think the 525 is the best sporting model browning ever produced. Me being a 15 7/8" LOP, neither of these guns will satisfy that without putting a 1" plastic spacer with a 1" pad in the back of it and I just don't want to do that. I'm selling both to fund another shotgun I found that "fits" me.

I've had problems uploading pics for some reason. If there's something else you want to see I'd be happy to send whatever pics you need.
Thanks

Pat

Is the SMASH 3000 Another Version of the Tracking Point?

This sighting system has been out for a few years now. This first article is from October 2022.

The Army is officially adopting a ‘guaranteed hit’ smart scope

This is the company that is producing the SMASH 3000. They don't have any purchasing information but I bet the device probably costs close to $10,000 or more.

This video is a little boring but shows the capability of the sighting system. The only downside that I can see is that they need to produce a version with night vision / thermal capability. Maybe the device is night vision compatible. I haven't read enough about it yet to know what its full potential is.
