And here comes their counterpunch, right on time

Amazing they found a NEW WhuFlu virus “in the wild”?in chinna- and of course it has the potential to be way way more badder than the first token- crank up the money printing machines- break out the voter drop boxes already filled - and tell everyone they love to find more government corruption and waste but they’ve gotta shut everything down and send all the “nonessential “ peons home - for years ! Perfect !

Ruger am77 Markii 30-06 chassis

Hi guys,
I've got an old paddle board Ruger M77 Markii in 30-06 and would like to modernise the chassis.
Just after any ideas from those who have done it or are in the know?
I've looked at Boyds, H&S precision and Bell amd Carlson. Does anybody have any experience with these stocks or any pictures to help envision what the finally product may look like?
Any assistance, ideas, recommendations are appreciated.

Considering a 13.9” upper to go with my 18” 6.5 Grendel.. thoughts?

I recently built an 18” 6.5 Grendel with a NightForce NX8 2.5-20x
IMG_0798.jpeg
I went with the superlative arms piston system, but the BCG is tight in the upper so I may swap it over to DI with a superlative arms adjustable gas black and JP FMOS.
After researching the round more it really seems to be great at everything. So I’m thinking it may be cool to build a 13.9” SBR upper to have superior capabilities compared to my 300blk out and 14.5” AR and far less blast and recoil than my 13” SCAR 17. If I do that it makes total sense to swap the superlative piston to the SBR and I would use a VLTOR MUR upper since the BCG fits perfectly in that upper (my 14.5” AR setup). What I’m really wanting input on is… optic arrangement. While I’d have the 18” upper for long range, the 13.9” should be very capable out to distance. So I was thinking of trying the Steiner T6XI 2.5-15x with an RMR mounted on top. I’ve never used a top mounted or offset RMR, but I’m sure I can train to become accustomed to it. I thought this set up would make more sense than another LPVO. I’ve got a Trijicon Credo 1-6x on my 14.5” AR and a Trijicon Credo HX 1-8x on my SBR SCAR 17. Thoughts?
Use would be run and gun and up to whatever distance the rifle is capable. I’m thinking of trying the Lehigh 110 grain copper solids and the 110 grain controlled chaos.

Precision Rifle Gear Question on RRS Anvil 30 R-lock tension adjustment

Question for those that have used both the older non r-lock Anvil 30 and the new r-lock version...

I have an older non r-lock version right now. The clamp tension on the rail isn't adjustable, but it can compensate for different rails somewhat as there is a wave spring under the nut. The wave spring compresses and can handle a bit of dimensional variability in the rails and still provide adequate clamp force. It works on all the rails I currently have with no issues.

I keep thinking about picking up one of the newer r-lock versions to either replace mine or for a second tripod setup. The new R-lock Anvil 30 has adjustable tension where you can squeeze the clamp in and then adjust the nut for different rail dimensions. My question is does the new version with adjustable clamp tension still have a wave spring under it so it will accept some rail dimension variability without constantly messing with the adjuster nut, or do you have to manually adjust the clamp nut for proper tension on every rail you put it on? I'm hoping it still has a wave spring in it so I don't have to constantly mess with it.

Reloading Equipment Big .30 cal bullet sale

Offloading a bunch of bullets as I never ended up building a 300 WSM and shoot bigger stuff in my 300 NM. All prices are per box and include shipping. I'd greatly prefer to ship a guy multiple boxes, particularly of the 100 ct boxes. We can probably work something out if you want all 500 of a certain type, etc.

If you're so inclined to building a new 30 cal, I do have a 30 cal proof carbon 22" 1:9 blank listed for sale as well as 200 pieces of 300 WSM (Norma) brass.

SOLD Mk12 Mod 1 Upper - $1350 shipped

Selling a very well spec’d Mk12 Mod 1 upper built by the one and only D. Wilson. At the heart of the upper is a 1:7 twist, bead blasted Centurion barrel mated to a square forge upper with Toolcraft BCG/PRI Gasbuster CH and KAC FF RAS. A Centurion gas block (tabbed & pinned), and Allen Engineering brake + collar are affixed. The upper has 300 rounds on it and obviously been rattle canned, appearing more used than it actually is.

SOLD

No trades please.

To Arbor Press or not?

Looking for anyone with experience running an arbor press and how it compares to a conventional press. Did you see obvious results in down range performance?

I am also interested in an arbor press because it is more portable and less “work” in turn of cam over and effort.

As a follow up, has anyone seen a digital force gauge that could be used with an arbor press? I see the AMP option but I don’t want to spend 1500 on another press. It would be cool if you could retro fit a simple digital force pac to the lower priced options like K&M or 21st Cnetury.

7 PRC : 175 ELDX vs 175 Nosler Accubond long range for big deer?

I have the opportunity to hunt large Whitetail deer this Fall. Possibly a 250 lb animal in Midwest. I live in SC and the biggest bucks we kill are usually around 180 lbs. As of now I would be using the 175 ELDX that I hand load and shoots well in my Seekins Havak PH2. I have read some reviews of the cup and core ELDX, that the lead core usually separates from the copper cladding. My experience has been shooting behind the shoulder (double lung) and getting a pass through but not a great blood trail. I have not shot a deer in the shoulder yet with this ELDX but have not lost a deer either. They usually run 30-60 yds and no problem finding them. I understand without hitting bone a lot of the energy passes through the deer. I’ll try to test the ELDX this Fall on SC deer hitting the shoulder before the Midwest hunt late season (December). I plan on shooting a big heavy Midwest deer in the shoulder. Has anyone compared the Nosler 175 Accubond LR to the ELDX actually hitting a heavy deer in the shoulder? I feel like depositing all the energy in the deer has the best chance of dropping the animal. A bonded bullet seems like it has a better chance of not coming apart for a shoulder shot. I appreciate any experience you can share.
