I have 2 x 6 Dasher barrels threaded for an impact 737. They’re criterion blanks chambered by KI Precision with an Alpha reamer at .130 FB. One barrel is brand new and the other has 43 rounds on it. Finished length is 26” and threaded 5/8x24. Only shot a few groups with the one used barrel and it shot as you’d expect any dasher to shoot, lights out. I am looking for some help and advice for my Howa 1500 heavy barrel rifle in a Hera stock. The rifle will be used for a hog/ deer / target rifle and as a trainer for better hunting marksmanship. I get a really amazing discount from nightforce so I am wanting to go with them. I can’t decide between these two mounts, I only have experience with Dnz one piece mounts when it comes to these types. I have calculated ( I did read the sticky on ring height) but I assume I will need high rings. Thoughts opinions welcome. Thank you

I have a 20” 6.5CM that I want to run 123’s in. I’m getting great velocity with Staball Match and IMR 4895. My question is, will the velocity drop be less significant per barrel inch with relatively fast powder? For example, I’m getting 2870 fps with 40.5gr Staball and 2828fos with 39.2gr 4895. Thats a lot faster than I expected. No sticky bolt, some primer cratering but I’m using small rifle primers.

I years ago i build a long range rifle on a 700 action. Used a big, thick and long shilen select barrel in 6.5x55. And the mcmillan a5. This rig is pretty heavy.

I have in the later years been hunting more and more and i simply dont have as much time for long range shooting anymore. But i am toying with the idea of stripping the stock and put in another action with a barrel, and after its shot out put in one of those carbon wrapped barrels.
What are my option in actions? I want a common magnum round. Do i have to look for a rem700 or will any clone fit right in? For example weatherby 307?
