I want to build (or maybe buy, if I must) a precision .308 gas gun

Gents, I have been scouring the forum for info and I'm stuck in a feedback loop in my head. I want to put together a precision gas gun in .308 (because I have access to the ammo). This would be for range use, primarily, but I like to build duty-quality/reliability rifles. I had settled on Seekins builder sets for receivers/forearm because you minimize/eliminate the pressure on the barrel nut when you run the rifle on a bipod. I've discovered that they are very hard to find and expensive as hell when you do find them. My questions are these:

If not Seekins, whose upper/forearm combo is best for elimination of the input into the barrel when using a bipod? I love the direct forearm-receiver attachment but Seekins, Mega/ZEV, etc don't seem to be obtainable any more. I wish Larue had a large-frame builders set.

Am I going to spend as much money building one of these as I am buying something outright from JP (highly recommended) or an SP10 from Seekins?

I've been following @Bigjake83's posts regarding small frame precision rifle building and have used his formula to put a dandy small frame recce rifle together. I'd like to try it with a large frame.

Any input? Am I just spinning my wheels?

Thanks for your time.

Gunsmithing Ruger M77 stock inletting

Ever since bigger stock companies have "trimmed the fat" for stock inlets, the tempo here has gone bezerk.

This is our "bedding ready" inlet for the M77 action from Ruger. It's now a std service. The receiver surfaces are offset by +.05" so that the resin casting isn't paper-thin in some spots and fat in others.

Mostly-peaceful left sets up site to target Tesla Owners...

So not only does it target them and organizes violence against dealers and owners... it has a "Molotov Cocktail" icon to encourage arson and attacks.

Tesla owners were the darlings of the left until just a few weeks ago. Saving the planet and all that...

But someone took away their Twitter... and now is cutting their funding. So the answer? No... don't come up with better ideas or better political messages... nope, turn into domestic terrorists.

Bondi and Patel have said Tesla attackers will be treated as domestic terrorists. So let's see these idiot start to go to jail and if they cause injuries or deaths, they can ride the needle.

They are unhinged and unleashed! And life means nothing to them because they now think Tesla Owners are committing genocide...

Heads on a swivel, folks. They won't stop with Tesla owners! And when their molotov bombings don't work out.... they'll go after something new. With just as much violence. Churches? Elks clubs? Schools (as usual). Your restaurants that serve that meat (which is murder, after all). These folks are unhinged. And are being turned loose on America.

Help me spend my money: Seekins

Have an itch for a precision Gas Gun with a nice optic. Have access to range out to 1000 yards. Steel every 100 yards.

Wanting to go with Seekins for the reputation of accuracy, etc

Can’t decide between the 18” DMR in .223 wylde or the SP10 in 6.5cm 22”. I understand they have the 6ARC in the DMR but for what I already have I want to stay with the .223 or 6.5cm.

For those that have had gone down this road or are on it would you recommend the AR15 plateform or AR10? Both, from reviews, are going to give me sub MOA accuracy with match ammo.

DMR $1,800
SP10 $2,800 (worth that extra grand?)

Thoughts? Best bang for the buck?

Picatinny/1913 folding stock

I have a bergara bmp chassis and I’m wanting to convert it into a folder. Have a design worked up already to convert it to a picatinny style stock mount but before I put in the time and material I was looking for advice or measurements of different folding stocks from center of the pic mount to folded edge of the stock because the rear of this seems a little thick for some of the folders I’ve seen. Just want to make sure I’d be able to get the stock folded completely. Thanks in advance.
