Firearms WTS Thompson Center Black Diamond 50cal Muzzleloader

Not actually a firearm so will ship direct to your door. Good starter black powder, my kid graduated to the T/C Encore. Really nice deep bluing. Shoots light loads with Hornady SST 250s really well and also with full a power load of 80gr (weighed) of Blackhorn. Has the T-handle rod but cut down so no threads on the end. $125 and I’ll cover shipping (free) to the lower 48. Zelle preferred for payment but can do others, PP etc.

$2350 shipped/insured CONUS, $2300 ftf. Or $2550/$2500 ftf with the LT158 mount that it's currently in.

Would consider a partial trade of a Steiner T6i 3-18 with MSR2 reticle, or similar.

22 BR Barrel Length and Twist Rate

My next build will be a 22 BR Norma/Lapua. I have read most of the 22 BR threads via the search feature!

My intended targets:

Steel out to 1,000 yards.
Coyotes at night out to 400 yards.
Groundhogs out to 600 yards.

Remington 700 S/A Clone
McGowen Precision Barrel
Diligent Defense Enticer LT-i suppressor

What barrel length and twist rate would you recommend?
I already have a 22-250AI 1:7 twist so I do have a decent supply of heavy for caliber .224 bullets.

I may want to shoot mid-weights for our Ohio groundhogs.

Thanks!

6 dasher AR10

I released some time ago in the marvelous 6 dasher an AR 10 . And yes that works very well in semi auto .
Rifle gas length system ,JP low mass bolt carrier and JP high pressure bolt to avoid pierced primer .
To make it work with this little round I use pmag magazine ,and with the anti tilt follower no problem .
The gas port is drilled at 1,9 mm (0,075inch). For a 22 inch long barrel .

Accessories RRS TFCT-34L w Anvil 30 LNIB TFCT 34L

This has been tested in the desert once or twice. Van to dirt, back in van. No hunting or matches, almost perfect LNIB. I did mock up several rifles on it in the garage over the past year. Had this, 14L and finally settled upon the TFCF-33. Thought I'd keep this one because it's the most popular one, but it's clear I'm not going to use it, I'm 5;8" and don't need all this height. Comes with box/tools, ect just like new. Has one small nick on one of the locking collars, don't know how it got there but cosmetic only does not affect function, see pic. $1475 shipped and insured to CONUS, $350 less than new from eurooptic OTD w taxes and all. Please don't waste both our time with lowballs, and sorry, not interested in trades. Thanks for looking!

Practical Powder Measurement System for Analog Scales - No Zero Drift!

Hi All,

I’m hoping to get some feedback on a product that I’m thinking about selling but don’t yet have the means to produce it with reasonable effort. So thanks for taking a look, and thanks a lot for commenting if you can. Is it practical? Would you be interested? Any suggestions?

I developed this over the past few years after finally giving up on (reasonably priced) electronic scales. My day job is in a laboratory where our rule for zero drift is a maximum of %1 of expected measurement range over 24 hours. So I know a little bit about measurement in general. Some of the scales I tried at home had more than 10% drift in under a minute. I do suppose there are decent scales out there ($$$$$), but I will contend that if you have to zero before every load (like automatic units), and even between every batch, you really don’t know how much powder you're dropping.

The problem is that old fashioned analog scales are practically unusable. They are clumsy on the benchtop. Easily knocked around. Virtually impossible to read consistently due to parallax error, not to mention the horrible ergonomics of trying to line your eye up on it while it’s in a usable location. They are extremely sensitive to even the slightest draft in your work space, even the draft caused by slowly moving your arm close by. And they do suffer zero shift as dust accumulates, although this is much more on the order of <1% in 24 hours.

So I think I solved all that. For my large batches and pistol rounds I love my RCBS Uniflow. But for my precision work this seems to be pretty ok.

Thoughts?

Shouldered barrel AR15?

Go easy on me here.

This is for me to learn why Stoner chose the barrel attachment system he did. Why not a shouldered barrel with internal threads, like on a R700 bolt gun? I mean, as they are, the AR barrel already has a shoulder?

I don’t know much about AR15’s. I do own one, an Armalite, and I like the platform. I’m more of a bolt gun guy.

Never changed an AR barrel, and my entire knowledge of how a barrel mates into the AR receiver is from smilin’ Larry Gdamn Potterfield lol.

Anyway, I couldn’t find an answer online, so I hesitatingly ask you folks.

Edit: is it because of the need to independently orient the gas system? This just occurred to me.

What defines an MPVO?

Hello all.

We all know the definition of an LPVO. But what about an MPVO?
Does the magnification have to start at 2x? What is the maximum magnification that an MPVO can have? Where do you draw the line?
What about max objective size?

Anyone have ideas on this?

Im thinking that an MPVO could be all the way up to a 4-16x scope, but it has to have a smaller than 50mm objective?

What say the Hide?
