I’m pretty sure a lot of us, especially AR crew, have/do/will use the excellent products from KNS Precision in Fredericksburg, TX. Most of you are not aware they’re sitting plumb in the middle of a very windblown 8600 acre wildfire that erupted yesterday. Their status unknown at this moment, but would ask for all of us to have a private word for their personal safety and of their business, as well. Got a new Rem 700 Long Range in 308. Really liking the gun so far, but I'm having issues with some rounds not firing. Been searching a lot, but I can't find good info on where to start fixing/how to diagnose what exactly is the problem.

Happens with factory AAC 175, 168 and Winchester M80 LC brass
Averaging 2-3+ fail to fire per box of 20
Already removed and cleaned the firing pin/spring assembly
Loaded the rounds that didn't go off 2-3 times and they still didn't fire

Fail to fire on top, fired rounds on bottom. Maybe some flattening and slight cratering?




Bolt face has brass marks and what appears to be slight brass shavings?



I'm wondering if the brass shavings are simply getting into the firing pin and impeding it's travel, or if I have some other issue like bad firing pin dimesions or over pressure or headspace.

Do I just buy a new firing pin or spring or see if Rem will send me another bolt assembly?

Just tried to test fit a HUXWRX 5/8x24 direct thread adpter onto my Gen II RPR (in .308). Won't go a half turn. Tried it on my x39 RAR and fits beautifully.

Can't find anything anywhere that indicates the barrel thread should be other than 5/8 x 24.

I've got a note in to Ruger tech support but this is driving me nuts.

The March Palo Alto Rimfire PRS Match will be held on Sunday March 23rd. Check-in will start at 7:30am, Safety Meeting at 8:45am, and shooting will begin at 9:00am. Target setup will begin at 6:30am the more helpers the quicker setup goes.

This will be a PRS affiliated match held at Palo Alto Rifle and Pistol Club. If you wish to join PRS you can sign up on the website and your score from the match will be uploaded to the website. Joining PRS is not a requirement. The match fee is $30, and overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place a trophy.

The match fee will be $30 per shooter.

Having issues with an older AR-10(T). Gun started out as a 24" SS Target Barrel W/Free Float Tubular Handguard. I had a local smith cut the barrel down to 16" and install an Armalite forend (as pictured). I assume the twist rate (unknown) wasn't accommodating to the shorter barrel, as it will not seem to group anything within 6".

With that said, does anyone know of a barrel manufacture that will make a heavy 16" barrel for this pattern rifle and install it? Can I have a new barrel installed WITHOUT having to replace the bolt? Parts for these guns seem to be hard to find.

Hi folks. I've been considering a TVT QDT for a while and just noticed the new 65mm ball head. Anyone have any reviews of the 65mm ball head and comparison with the 55mm head? The gun is right on the 20lbs mark, so I'm not sure whether the 55mm head would be stable enough. Thanks in advance.

Not a Sniper Rifle but a vintage target rifle. I bought a Pre64 Model 70 from the CMP in 30-338win. I’m finally getting around to reloading for it and am wondering what the twist rate would be. Anyone have any insight on what the AMU would have been running on their match guns back in the day?

looking for 34mm cantilever mount,

I saw a blue ELCAN SpecterDR at an auction, it says SpecterDR by ELCAN SU-230/PVS 5.56 Articulated Telescope 1240-01-533-0939 MFR 36126.

It doesn't match up with anything I've found online so far, and while everything general I've found on SpecterDR models says 1x-4x, on the other side from the above information, this one is marked 1x or 16x.

Could it be some kind of prototype? Or maybe I happened upon something that's only supposed to be known to the Men In Black?

Any information would be appreciated.

Hello, looking for a good bolt action 6.5 Creedmoor to ping steel at 1000-1200 yards. May try PRS in the future, not sure.

Currently looking at the MPA BA PMR PRO II but before I click buy now what else should I consider? I think I heard something about a certain magazine not working on the new ARC action? Is that an issue? Double stack magazines would be preferable.

Is the Delta 5 Pro a contender? Maybe some good barreled action in a MDT chassis? There's so many options out there now I want to make sure I'm not missing anything that I'll figure out after I already have something.

Thanks for any and all opinions. I'll probably go for a Vortex Razor Gen 3 6-36x56, ATACR 7-35x36, Zeiss S3 LRP 6-36x56 or something similar to put on it. Maybe a Kahles K540i if I can find a crazy deal LOL, doubtful.
