I have not seen any threads with load information for this in a AR15 223/5.56. Hodgdon has load data, but I have not seen anything else. But pretty much, it loads with like .2-.3 grains more than 69 SMK Load data for near max.
I just got 100 bullets and will be loading up and testing 10 different loads in a Brux and Shilen barrel (AR15 223/5.56).
I will be testing using Benchmark, N135, N140, N133 and TAC probably to see if I can find anything accurate with it. Since this bullet is new, I feel like good ballpark loads are largely unknown. Unlike 77 grainers, where for 20 years, people are going to say "24 grains of RE15/Varket/N140" are the standard.

Anyone have any good loads in AR's with these bullets so I can get some good ideas of load area? I have every powder, so if its not on that list above, its ok. I will consider other options. I chose above ones, because those are what I would call "top tier possible choices" for the 100 I have. If I had more, I would include RE15, Varget, XBR, H4895 and maybe a couple ball powders like AA2230 and H335.

Obviously I’m not a gunsmith that’s why I’m here seeking help.I have a newer BAR MK3, with an adjustable gas block.

So I found a good video on how to completely disassemble a BAR. I did that cleaned it in an ultrasonic parts cleaner (parts that would fit). While it was apart I spray painted the barrel only. I taped the gas block off really good multiple layers as not to get paint in there. Reassembled, function test. Everything was good. Then test fired, goes bang like normal but won’t eject. I thought maybe it was the gas block that needed tuning even though I didn’t touch that at all. So I went from tight all the way out to 8 full turns in 2 full turn increments (10 full turns is max). All fired none ejected. So now what? Or what did I fuck up?

Edit: I’ll add that before I took it apart it would cycle whatever ammo I threw at it flawlessly. Never had a single failure to eject or short stroke. Probably 300 rounds down the barrel.

I'm putting together a new 16" 6mm ARC gas gun, and I'm trying to decide on what optic to get for it. Main use for this rifle will be for plinking and hunting (varmint/deer). Locally, I only have access to 100 yd, and I can shoot 200 yd (possibly 400 yd) at my parents' property. I'm also considering leaving this gun with a friend for when I'm on work travel where the local range is 550 yd and beyond out in the desert.


In the 2.5-15/20 range, I'm looking at the Athlon Ares BTR Gen 2 HD, Steiner T6XI, GPO GPOTAC 8X, and NF NX8. In the 3-15/18 range, I'm looking at the Swampfox Warhawk, Bushnell Match Pro ED, Athlon Ares ETR UHD, and Element Titan.

There are some 44mm objective options in those magnification ranges, but they seem to be more the outlier than the norm. Maven RS1.2 MIL, Vortex Viper PST Gen II, Vortex Venom, Vortex Strike Eagle, and Primary Arms Glx.


Just wondering what SH thoughts are on those options. Any that should be definitely be avoided? My primary concerns are a good eye box and decent glass and not too stiff turrets. The turret detents on my 1-8x GPOTAC are so stiff that it usually jumps 2-3 clicks when it first moves, which is really annoying.
