Suggestions for 9mm PCC CAN

Just picked up a Springfield Kuna and looking for a short light cab to go on it.

Will also go on my AR 9 and future AP5. Does not need to be multi caliber and will never be used on a pistol.

Currently have a 10-15 year old Liberty Mystic but wanting something shorter and lighter.

Don’t care about most quiet, just need it to knock the blast down, we wear ear protection no matter what.

Would like it under 1.5” diameter so it will fit under hand guard on my ar9.

Last question, how important is it to have a serviceable 9mm can? Back in the day it was reccomended to have take down pistol cans to be able to clean. I run jacketed hollow points so lead buildup shouldn’t be a problem.

Maggie’s How much are you paying…

…to the government so that they can search your travel records? Yes, they use your tax dollars to buy billions of searchable travel records and have been since 2011. Your favorite airline is part owner of a company that compiles all travel records and then sells it to governments.

Article from Malwarebytes Labs:

Airline data broker selling 5 billion passenger records to US government

Posted: September 17, 2025 by Danny Bradbury
We already knew that the US airline industry gave the government access to passenger records. However, this week it emerged that at least five billion passenger records are being sold to government agencies via a searchable database—far more than was initially believed.
A few weeks ago, investigative research team 404 Media reported on a secretive relationshipbetween many US airlines and the US government. That story showed that the airlines had sold US agencies access to around a billion records.
Now, researchers have found the data broker that collects flight data from the airline industry has made at least five billion records available to federal agencies.
The organization selling the data is the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), which is owned and operated by at least eight US airlines. It sells the government this data under the Travel Intelligence Program (TIP), which was started after the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.
ARC provides access to a searchable database of at least five billion records, updated daily with new ticketing information. At least one agency, the US Secret Service, has a contract to access this data, paying $885,000 for data through 2028, according to documents obtained by 404 Media.

Known clients

In June, 404 Media found that ARC had been making names, flight itineraries, and financial details available to US agencies, which were forbidden from revealing it as the source, under contract. The data included flights booked via 12,800 travel agencies, which submit ticket sales from over 270 carriers globally to ARC.
Originally developed as a financial clearing house, ARC provides payment settlement services for federal agencies and airlines. Known clients include Customs and Border Protection, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Travel dates and credit card numbers are available to federal customers, which also include the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the US Marshals Service.

A long history of sharing data

The US airline industry has a long history of interacting with the US government. In 1996, Al Gore’s White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security recommendedautomated screening for better flight security. A year later, most North American airlines voluntarily implemented what became known as the Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System (CAPPS). After the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) took over CAPPS, it built a system called CAPPS II, which used security color-coding for flight passengers. That system ran into trouble after several airlines admitted to giving the US government access to passenger data.
American Airlines reportedly confessed to making passengers’ records available in the early 2000s, as did United, while Northwest also gave NASA access to millions of passenger records. These relationships enabled data mining work at government agencies involving passenger records. A US General Accounting Office (GAO) report in 2004 found that CAPPS II was behind schedule, in part because it had failed to address privacy concerns.
“One air carrier initially agreed to provide passenger data for testing purposes, but adverse publicity resulted in its withdrawal from participation. Similar situations occurred for the other two potential data providers,” the report said. “TSA’s attempts to obtain test data are still ongoing, and privacy issues remain a stumbling block.”
The TSA canned CAPPS II that year, switching instead to a system called Secure Flight. This also implemented a color-coded security system for passengers and uses the US government’s No-Fly list.
The information that ARC funnels to the US government reportedly comes only from travel agencies, meaning that direct bookings with airlines hopefully won’t be logged in this way. Passengers might want to consider that when making travel plans.”

Can a plumber help me?

I am renovating a bathroom and moving the vanity. There used to be two vanities and I am reducing it down to one. The old vanity on the right used to not drain well and based on what I have discovered from removing the dry wall, it looks like the drain created a trap?

I am wanting to install the new vanity on the right hand side, however based on the location of the existing plumbing, the drain and water outlets will have to be slightly moved to accommodate the location of the new vanity. I do plan on having a plumber do this.

However, I am plenty confident to handle the rough in for the drain. My question is… what is my best solution to allow proper draining and no air traps based on the existing conditions? I do not want to have to remove much more drywall if I don’t have to. But if I need to to do it properly then I do not mind. Do I just need to “T” at the sink. Go up and 90 back to the vent?

Any help I appreciate. I don’t mind texting or talking on the phone. I have more pictures available.

Thanks Hide.

ELR weekend at The Arena UKD Nov 15/16

Good afternoon,

I reserved the UKD range at the Arena TF in Blakely GA for the weekend of Nov 15/16. There is 7 slots open on the roster for a maximum of 25 shooters. Send me a PM if you want to join us for the weekend. This is not a match, it is an informal shooting event where you can shoot beyond a mile. The range fees for the weekend is $165 and on campus cabins are available for the weekend. We have done this a few times successfully in the past with some experienced ELR shooters showing up for the weekend. We will also have some informal competitions for fun, but more on that later.

We plan on having the range go hot on Saturday morning around 8am -12 noon, Cold for and hour for lunch and target and hit indicator maintenance and hot again at 1pm until dark same for Sunday. We will have a safety meeting at 7:30 each morning. General range safety rules apply.

Hope to see you there

2A watch: Appeals court to hear challenge to IL "AWB" & magazine ban TODAY

This case is Barnett v Raoul and is a 3 panel hearing (which everyone expects the plantiffs to lose for political reasons).

Barnett v Raoul challenges the IL PICA act which bans semi-auto rifles, magazines over specific capacity, and other things, like pistols with threaded barrels. It is the first of multiple cases which will be heard this week.

This is the same case that was previously heard by District Court Judge McGlynn, who ruled for the plantiffs.

This hearing is especially important and noteworthy because the US DOJ will be presenting arguments ON BEHALF OF THE PLANTIFFS, against the State of IL. It could also be the case that gets "AWB" bans before USSC.

Most weight tunable chassis/stock?

Interested in the consensus on what the most weight tunable PRS-type chassis is. Defining this as the largest delta between absolute minimum weight and a reasonable maximum weight (loaded with internal weights, buttstock weights if applicable, all accessory slots loaded with external weights).

I think it might be the xlr envy pro with its internal weights and c6 buttstock weights but curious what everyone’s experience has been. Thanks!

Sidearms & Scatterguns Taurus G3c -cheap but worthy?

I was on the lookout for a pocket gun. I have a Sig P365, but the grip is just too small for me. I picked up a Taurus G3c and was pleasantly surprised. It's physically almost the same size as the P365, but a little bigger and a bit beefier. And, aside from 9mm, it also comes in S&W 40 caliber. I picked up a new all black one in 9mm with two 12 round mags for $232.00 so I figured I couldn't lose. At least, not much.

After 100 rounds, I like this gun! The slightly larger grip feels much better to me than the one on the Sig, and I can shoot it every bit as well or better. The trigger has a lot of take-up, but the break was better than most guns of that type I've shot. It has a trigger safety. It also has a right-handed safety, but the grip is ambidextrous. I have no problem holding dead center on man-sized targets out to 50 feet, and I can still hold it center mass on the target out to 50 yards. I had a variety of ammo, and it ate everything I fed it.

It breaks down like a Glock, and cleaning is easy. Mine came with 12 round mags, but you can get it with 10 rounds mags that protrude a bit shorter out of the grip.

If your looking for a pocket pistol and most offerings feel uncomfortably small in the grip, you might check out one of these.
