A friend of mine suggested that I get a b-14 or a tikka and start from there. I’ve only shot an LPR three times at 600 yds and under. Groups weren’t horrible but you could tell that I’m new to the game.

Right now it gets light at 7 and dark about 4... if having a hootenanny in goat chaps will bring the sun back... I'm all for it!

First, hello.

New user to the forum, but have known of it for a good while, not new to firearms, prior service, husband and a dad, and friends with an older fellow veteran with a lot of land to practice on Pretty decent with a pistol, not bad with a rifle, trying to go from decent to quite good.

So I got into a more precision oriented type of shooting a couple years ago with a longer range bolt action .22LR setup. At distance though boy does the wind take it's toll.... And I want to shoot small groups at distance to try to hit small targets. My friend only has MAX 600 yards of range, more realistically 500 is pushing it, but again I want to shoot small targets. I'm also not made of money with a mortgage, 3 kids, etc. My friend lets call him O.D.D (Old Devil Dog) has been building and buying $$$ air rifles, and building Remington 700 clone auctioned rifles as of late and while I thought my .22 was not bad, his well it's not a Vudoo rifle but probably not a real far trip from as nice as one. I don't have that kind of coin but want to put up a challenge and noticed the CZ 600 Range.

Some seem to view the CZ 600 series as a failure it seems due to the recall and dropping the user changeable barrels, but personally that doesn't bother me a bit other than it looks like there's a drop in interest of the rifles which is a concern for longer term support from the aftermarket and CZ themselves. However from what I have seen, what the rifle offers out of the box for the price tag seems pretty incredible frankly. If I could have it my way the barrel would be 2" shorter and a little thicker but other than that I don't know of anything I would want to change. And given to me the purchase cost of $1250 is not a small amount of money though I know for a precision style rifle that's "cheap". I wanted to post somewhere that's more focused on say tight groups at longer ranges with higher marksmanship interest than say, AR15.com and get the collectives opinion before I pull the metaphorical trigger on the purchase, as IF I purchase it, I'll be ordering about 3 loads of match 175gr, rings and a decent piece of higher powered glass for it right away after cleaning....

Hey guys, I got a couple other threads going on right now but this is totally unrelated. I got my 17-year-old daughter a Ruger American Gen 2 6.5 cm. They come with a 20-in barrel so they're a pretty compact gun. She is used to shooting but I wanted to get something that she could shoot really comfortably as much as she wanted, and deer hunt with. Generally speaking, we don't shoot very far, but I have a friend who we hang out with a lot and he's always inviting us out to a Long range range. 0-1000.

So here's the deal, I'm really not familiar with this cartridge although he is. He is really pushing me to put a 3 to 15 power scope on this but that seems huge to me. Granted what I'm familiar with (2x7 or 3x9) won't be able to do much out there on the big range.

I'm just curious what most of you guys would set your daughter up with for scope power? Im trying to find something that could hunt close well, while also stretching out a little bit to have some fun and not overwhelming and ruining the utility of this compact gun.

Anyone ever had the issue with rcbs app trying to save a powder profile to a memory slot. It stuck on the loading/synchronization with loading icons. I have unpaired and repaired my dispenser with bluetooth. Heres a pic of whats happening. It stayed like this for 45 mins the other night. Its not stopping me one bit from reloading but wanna use all its features it offers. Have contacted rcbs they said they pushed an update but still nothing.
