RRS BRACS for Remington RACS Fit Issue

This might be a niche topic, but any Remington RACS chassis owners that have a RRS BRACS ARCA plate? I placed a custom order to have a run of the BRACS plates made, and they do not fit properly on my short action RACS with a full length fore end tube, nor with a spare XM2010 fore end I also have (both fore ends are the same).

It looks like the curve of the mounting screw points on the RRS BRACS is sharper than the curve on the full length fore end tube. Sliding the BRACS all the way back pushes it down a bit, causing the mounting screw holes to go out of alignment. So I can only push the BRACS so far back before the screws start binding due to the misalignment. Please see the below pics for what is happening.

Steelwater Gun Safes A+

I just wanted to share a positive experience about Steelwater Gun Safes. I’ve had one for several years. It has very nice LED lighting, one bar on the side panel on each side, and they come on when you open the door. Recently, they stopped working properly, blinking weakly. I went on their website and submitted a customer service request stating my issue. I kid you not, like 5 minutes later I get an email from Keith apologizing for the problem and describing how to troubleshoot, and asking for my mailing address. I followed the steps, which were simple, and reported back. Next thing I know he responded letting me know the part(s) are on the way along with instructions to install. I’m very pleased.

AI Straight Trigger shoe, NEWBIE AI QUESTION

So I am a brand new AI owner. Just recently purchased a AT-XC and am waiting on the arrival of it to Mile High. Every rifle I own has a flat trigger shoe, and was hoping to swap the original curved AI show for the flat shoe. I was informed that the XC is leaving dealers with the comp trigger, is this true? Also will there be any issue with putting this shoe on the trigger if its not a comp model?
Just a reminder I am new to the AI world, and currently picking up barrels as I go. :)

K-Bars Montana knife company

Well just figured I'd share my experience.
Ordered a new knife for my kid and was pretty disappointed with MKC. The blade almost had a chisel grind to it making the tip pretty far off centered, and lots of tooling marks on the spine.

Sent the knife back asking for a refund and now to start looking elsewhere.

Any suggestions? Looking for hunting knife in the 3" range. Would prefer a drop point.

Sport Optics Officially Carries ZCO's Entire Competition Catalog

We've recently expanded our already extensive ZCO offerings to include all scope and reticle options in their competition line of optics. I have a good bit on hand and can also back order without anything down. Lead times very but are usually not too long. Call any time for questions or orders.

Firearms FS/FT Remington 700in7 RUM with 26"barrel

I bought this rifle from a Remington collector and tld it was unfired, which appears to be the case as I can find no trace of carbon. It did have anel cheapo mount attached and there is just a bit of residue where I removed it. These older Remy actions are excellent and I intended to use it to build a 7 PRC but decided to go another way. $1025 to your FFL, if it needs to be shipped from my FFL $25 extra. Open to reasonable offers and trades. Black case IS NOT included

insane and escalating pushback

how is it,what law, what established rules let these judges and boards enable them to force the pres to spend money, hire or rehire useless bureaucrats? obvious for years that things are way out of control of the people and those they choose to manage the country.
i was hoping that Trump's election would negate the use of brute force that the left and deep state used on us since prior to and escalated during covid. looks like that was a empty thought. sad,but true "violence is the only thing that ever settles anything". once again the rule of law seems to be failing to repair >100 years of damage.
where is there to turn when all you want to do is be left alone and not subjected to perversion, theft, threats, malignant control of the state and it's abuses?

Night Vision Pulsar digex C50

Barely used. I've taken it out twice for short hunts. Has absolutely everything it left the factory with. Never stored with the batteries in it. The IR illuminator is already mounted, and I'll leave it in the burris preper mount that it's in now. That seems to be just right for mounting height. $1,000 shipped, or trade for something cool, (looking for a 22-250 or faster .22 bolt rifle).

Smoke composites! A+

I just want to say that I had an excellent ordering experience with smoke composites.

I was having issues finding a handguard for a JP rifles barrel and gas system, so I wrote them an email to discuss fitment. I sent them links from JP with the dimensions of my components and they actually took the time to review the specs and discuss my options.

They got me all set and I just sent the money to them today. The whole process was smooth and I am super excited to work with them again in the future.

Muzzle Device Question

I have been convinced that it is bad to put too much torque on a muzzle device. I am even more concerned about that with a bolt action long range precision rifle. So when mounting a muzzle device I typically use a low torque value and they always seem to stay in place for me. However, I want to mount a muzzle device as part of a QD system which means my hand will be putting torque on the muzzle device in both directions reapeatedly over time. I worry that will loosen the muzzle device over time and therefore it seems like a thread locker would be an approprate solution. The problem with that is people have me concerned about carbon build up in the muzzle device and it needing to be removed for cleaning periodically. If I mount the muzzle device with Rocksett, I can remove it with water and a low temperature. If I mount it with Loctite (or equivilant) I can remove it with higher temp and no water. Google says 550 degrees F. So my question then becomes, what is least likely to damage a barrel? Is it better to apply 550 degrees to it and no water or is it better to apply 212 to it and water? 550 degrees is well into temporing temps for steel. I would hate to destory or mess up the temper at the end of the rifling. 212 seems like a safe temperature for not changing the molecular structure of the steel but letting the tip of the barrel sit in boiling water seems like a lot of moisture in the barrel that could cause corrosion and that moisture seems like it would be working its way up the barrel into the action. I suppose I could plug the chamber to keep moisture out of the action. I would, of course, clean, oil, and dry the barrel immediately after boiling. So if anyone has any thoughts on this or, better yet, experience with it, I would love to know. Maybe neither option would harm the barrel. Thanks for the help.

SOLD Foundations MG2 Terminus/Impact

Foundation MG2 dark Distressed with surgeon bottom metal. Full weight kit. Arca rail.

I sent this stock to John Kyle to have it cut for a terminus. It still fits both terminus and impact. I also had an additional qd stud added for a sikes clutch. The stock is in great shape. The bottle metal was filed a bit with a dremel on the trigger guard. Had a few issues with trigger stuff thought it would work. I covered it with some tape but other than that it’s still a great functioning bottom metal.

I can send some additional pics. Pics show with impact and terminus.

Remove Blue loctite stain from wood?

I thought there was a gunsmithing forum, but I guess it went away. I put a tube of blue loctite down on a table a the lid was totally secure, so I got a thumb sized stain on the wood. I think it’s polyurethaned, the table is like 30 years old, but this is the worst I’ve done to it. In the doghouse.

Heat is out. I see acetone mentioned, but I’m worried about the finish. Anyone have experience or thoughts?

What is blues loctite? Some kind of cyanoglue?
