SOLD WTS Ridgeline defense lpr fde

Looking to sell my ridgeline defense lpr. Rifle has exactly 100 rounds through it. Was going to use it in some matches but that’s not gonna play out now. Has two marks on it that I’ve photographed and will show to the best of my ability.

Long range training rifle to grow into (details included)

My apologies for retreading well-worn ground. Also for being verbose, but I hope to provide useful details that will allow those with greater knowledge to guide me. I will say upfront that I have spent the last couple of weeks reading as much as I could find in terms of individual reviews and comparisons, including here, on forums such as rokslide, LRH, and reloading, and on reddit.

I currently own a Tikka T3x Lite in 6.5CM and a Bergara B14R in 22LR; both are phenomenal rifles that I have reached .5 MOA with - I am the limiting factor. However, the T3x is my hunting rifle, and, with one of their pencil barrels, its accuracy opens up after 10 to 15 rounds. The Bergara is only good to about 300m, and that's on still days - even gentle winds send subsonic 22 match ammo sailing to the sides. My nearby range is 50-200m, but my friends and I have recently discovered multiple ranges that go out to between 600 and 1000m within driving distance. We intend to start training on longer range shooting, estimating windage from vegetation, all the fun stuff. I have begun competing at my local club in 22LR 100m bench matches, and may join the 200m high power rifle NMC matches with this new rifle. Additionally, my best friend just got an MRAD, and I got to see the difference that was firing a heavy rifle with a muzzle break compared to my Tikka, as well as a completely different trigger.

Regarding reloading: I do not currently reload. I already find reloading fascinating, and have spent hours reading other people's discussions about powders, seating depths, barrel wear, etc. If you could not tell, I am an engineer. I think I would love reloading, and once I move (projected to happen in approximately 6 months), if I find myself shooting sufficient quantities, I will invest in reloading equipment. I have already been saving all my shot Tikka brass.

What I am looking for: A high-precision, chassis-based, bolt-action rifle that won't break the bank.
A couple of wants:
  • A long, two-stage trigger - I found the MRAD trigger to be more to my liking than either my Tikka or Bergara, even though both have VERY crisp triggers. I'm weird. The take up helps me prepare my shot. This looks like something I am unlikely to get in a noncustom rifle.
  • While not mandatory, I really like the quick change barrel/bolt head systems that some of the rifles have, so that I could theoretically bang out a whole bunch of cheap .308 for practice, then swap to a hotter 6.5CM or even PRC for competition (depending on range). Is this silly, compared to just getting a 6.5CM and using prefits?
  • A heavy rifle with a heavy barrel - something around 15 lbs.
  • The chassis must have (or have as an accessory) something akin to an NV bridge - I wish to use an over the bore bipod.
Cost definitely matters. I'd like to keep the rifle itself sub $2500, but I could stretch that.

The first rifle that caught my eye and sent me down this rabbithole was the Seekins Precision Havak HIT Pro M3. It checks nearly every box, except that it would need a number of modifications from stock form to get there (weights, accessory bridge, new trigger), driving the price up. Still, is Seekins the best company, and this the best rifle, here?
Then I saw the
Bergara Premier Competition Rifle. $2300 at EuroOptic, uses MPA's chassis....I'm already a bit biased towards Bergara because of my current rifle. But while looking up that MPA chassis, I stumbled across the MPA Vanquish/Matrix/BA PMR Pro Rifle II: which guarantees 0.5 MOA accuracy, one of their gorgeous chasses, a variant of ARC's Coup de Grace action, although it is unclear if you can change the caliber as easily as the Seekins.
And then there is the
Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro, also coming in hot with the 0.5 MOA guarantee, interchangeable 26" barrels, and fries.
Which of these is best? Or should I find a gently-used custom, something like this: https://www.snipershide.com/shootin...a-gen-1-matrix-chassis.7248865/#post-12043172
To those who have read all of this, many thanks! Please, share your wisdom with me!

.308 Bergara B14 HMR: Manufacturer's 10-rnd AICS mag wobble.

I hope this has not been covered elsewhere but I could not locate.

I have a Bergara B14 HMR .308 and two(2) 10-rnd AICS mags branded by/purchased from Bergara directly. They each have a significant amount of play (about 1/2"). When firing with a mostly full mag, they both drop out from the rifle. They have behaved this way since day 1. The 5-rnd from Bergara has zero play and no issues. Top half of 5 and 10-rnd mags also appear identical.

To anyone with this rifle - have you experienced a similar issue? I would like to purchase a different magazines - preferably PMAGS or other polymer - but another post described the Bergara's as a rebranded PMAG (although visually it does not appear to be the case. If I will have the same issue with a new magazine (Bergara or other) I'd rather not spend the money.

Let me know - thanks!

New here. New build.

Hello all,

I’m new to both hunting and the precision world but i have been shooting for most of my adult life. I discovered this forum while exploring my first bolt rifle build for hunting, and since then, I’ve decided to finally dive into precision shooting. That being said, I’m hoping to find that magical middle ground where a rifle suits both the competition and hunting worlds.

My goals right now are a lighter-weight but tough rifle that can withstand slips and falls in steep, muddy, and rocky terrain. It should have enough energy for mid-to-long-range large game (elk, deer, bear, antelope, sheep)

After reading several interesting threads on running multiple calibers with just a bolt and barrel change using specialty mags or spacers, I think this is an option I’d like to keep open. There are several calibers I’m interested in—mainly .308 Win, 7 PRC, 300 PRC, and .338 Lapua—and having the ability to add them later by simply swapping a barrel, bolt, and spacer (or custom mag) would be ideal.

Initially, I think this will be my 7 PRC build:

Foundation Revelation or Foundation Hunt

LPA Fuzion LA

Hawkins M5 detachable BM

Proof 22" carbon prefit

TriggerTech 2-stage

TBA Magnus-K-RR

ZCO or Razor HD Gen III

I haven’t bought anything yet, as I’m currently selling a couple of other guns to fund this build. I’m also still working through compatibility checks, hoping that most of these parts play nicely together. Comments or suggestions are appreciated!

Right now, I’m trying to confirm whether the Hawkins M5 Detachable works with the LPA Fuzion LA. Most sources suggest they’re compatible, but on LPA’s site, they mention that the Fuzion only comes cut for the Hawkins BDL or Hunter. My knowledge here is lacking, so any insight would be helpful.

I’d love to hear from anyone with side-by-side experience running heavier calibers in these two stocks (Foundation Revelation vs. Foundation Hunt).

I’m not aiming for an "ultra-light" build—I want to be able to run 7 PRC comfortably all day at a match while still being able to hunt and carry it around the mountains without needing a wagon. I’m assuming the final weight will land somewhere in the 12–14 lb range.

I’ll keep this updated as I go!

Reloading supplies Cost increases

Good day all. Been gone a minute , I got a bad habit of dying or trying to.
Ive been reading up a lot and trying to get up to speed. After finishing the 338 lapua build last year I decided to drop dead in the yard and go for number 6 heart attack and trip 2 over the dark divide. Just cant seem to get it right.
My question today is about Powder pill and brass costs.
is too late for me to take a drive an snatch up some power brass etc ?
Im only slack on supplies for the 338 lapua 60 rnds and 30.06 120 rnds.
My main concern is powder. Im not sure we make or have all of the components to manufacture it here in the states.
Educate me please,
and thanks all of you.
hoping this isnt a reduntant post

Why not SOTU?

So, Pres. Trump is to address a joint session of Congress tomorrow evening. Everyone will be there and he will "tell it like it is." Afterwards, there will be a democratic response.

This smells an awful lot to me like a State of the Union address (SOTU). I'm curious then as to why they aren't referring to it as such in the media (Newsmax doesn't for sure).

What gives? Something I'm not aware of?
