URSA NorCal - match rescheduled to Saturday, March 29, 2025

Location – Clear Lake area (same as prior, coordinates 39°14'21.0"N 122°50'50.0"W)

Setup will be done late Saturday or early Sunday morning by our NorCal crew. Target(s) will be in place at minimum 2000 yards. IRIS hit-indicators will be in place and be the sole control for official hits and misses. The initial target distance for NorCal is 2147 yards, all California-legal firearms and ammunition are allowed, no weight restrictions, and no fees.

The Match Director will decide how many shooters need to be signed up to move forward with this event. Unless the event is formally cancelled (as announced on this and other posting sites), assume it is going forward.

IF you want to shoot multiple rifles, you need to complete a registration for each one. If you expect to be shooting with us more than once, I suggest you do yourself a favor and build a text file in your word processor and then just copy and paste. NOTE: IF you seriously think you will score 5 in 10 or better, please DO take the time to enter ALL the info requested in the Build Sheet section - will save me e-mailing you to get missing info and hasten getting results posted on the URSA site (News and Stats pages) and the non-Cal Guns sites. I'm put together a semi cheap night hunting set up, I went with the 335 thermnight. Now I got to get a gun, looking at the Patriot arms 223, was going to do 22arc or 6arc, but I have killed deer, hogs, yotes, and everything in between with 223, shooting either federal 69gr mk or hornady 75gr match, and i got pretty good stock pile of it.

Anyone have a suggestion for a quality soft case for an hd/long 2section inverted tripod? I have a red mist unit that did not have one.

I can’t justify anymore firearms so it’s time to move on. I much prefer LR /prone shooting and really have no interest in helmet mounted NV. I wanted a device that could AT LEAST stand up to 338 Lapua, but 50BMG is preferred. I really liked the E3 Harris CNVD LR, but it’s only rated to 308. I found that the Eotech ClipNV LR is not only good to 20x mag, but also 50 cal rated. Anyone know of a better (maybe even better priced unit) or a reason I should not go with this unit? Price is not a huge concern. This is a buy once cry once purchase. Also I would like to be able to shoot as far as possible. Would adding a MAWL extend its range? This will see use primarily on my MRAD, Barrett M82, and 18” 6.5 Grendel. It will be a couple months (at least I’m trying to wait at least that long) before I purchase this to gather as much info as possible. I appreciate any insight!
