I just picked up a lightly used Remington 700 .223 with 16.5" barrel for cheap...and even cheaper after the 25% off I got at Cabela's yesterday! Of course, I'm ditching the Hogue oversold stock and putting it in something a bit dressier. This will be used almost exclusively for range use and steel.

I've narrowed my search down to the KRG Bravo and the MDT Field Stock. I'm trying to figure out which one has the shorter fore-end given the stubbiness of the barrel. Can anyone who owns these give me a measurement from the front edge of the recoil lug to the tip of the stock? So far, my exhaustive internet sleuthing suggests the KRG is the shorter of the two but I can't find actual specs anywhere to prove that.

I'm looking for a aftermarket chassis to house my 17hmr in and wondering if anyone knows if it fits in a XLR Element 4.0.
Ultimate reloader mounted the b14 trainer in it so I'm thinking the 17hmr should work, Am I wrong?

I have a 20" rile gas system ballistic advantage 1:10 twist barrel on an AR10.. I looked for some bullets and found the 178gr ELD-M bullets with a great BC and a decent price..

We tried Varget as the first powder and I am questioning if the gun just does not like it. We tried 41.7gr, 41.9gr, 42gr, 42.1gr, 42.2gr, and 42.3gr.. our best standard deviations were at 41.9gr followed by 42.1gr.. but we could not get a group better than about 2-3 inches at 100 yards.

The husband had this same issue with his AR15 a few years back and swapped powders and it took it from 2-3 inch groups to sub moa.. I am wondering if this is a similar case.. I am thinking it may be..

What are some loads people are getting sub moa groups with for an AR10? powder, grains, OAL?

Hello, I just got my new Labradar LX and the main reason I bought this device was that its new soft update could calculate BC (G1 and G7).

On last weekend I had a chance to test it on the field. I shot 53 rounds on short and long ranges. It seems to capture each shot quire well and the info was displayed in the screen. On the screen I can see BC average of total shots

However, when I got home and exported data from the device the files contain bullet speed and kinetic energy data and again average BC. What I really miss here is individual shot's BC- as some shots might be not well recorded, also it is math work to eliminate extreme dots and get natural most expected average.

So, if you have any experience with this device any advice is welcome how can I get the BC data (for individual shots).

I purchased this optic due to how much I liked my 1st mk5hd 5x25 pr2. The scope has never seen recoil. It has actually never been mounted on a rifle yet. It has been mounted and light tourqued onto a spuhr mount. I purchased this new on November 14 2024 from Leupold.
This will come with everything it came with, a caveat is that the sunshade appears to be slightly stripped or threads scuffed. It came out of the box like this. I have a replacement that should be sitting in my mailbox right now actually. So it will have 2 sunshades.
I do have some 35mm ARC M-BRACE rings I can sell with it.
I don't really want to sell this optic but I am going to be trying to get a Tangent and I will have to make some sacrifices.

Looking to get into LR. At present I have a Remington 700 .270, 30-06, AR15 5.56 and a Ruger American Ranch 5.56. I just put a Arken scope on the Ruger and would like to start with it. My range only has 200 yard max, but have access to another range with up to 1000 yard distance. My plan is to use this Ruger up to 200 until I feel comfortable to move up. So here are the questions:

How far will this rifle take me(5.56)?
Is it unreasonable to think this 16 inch barrel will reach 1000 yards accurately?
I will have to keep you a budget, and have found a Remington 700 sps tactical in 6.5 creedmoor. Would this be an acceptable rifle to move up?
Also looking at a tikka upr. Should I shoot the Ruger for a while and save for the Tikka? I don’t want to buy twice if I can avoid it.
