Lies endure......

Just had a friend last night bring up the Jan 6 captiol riots. He looked at me funny when I laughed and said "ya riots" while making air quotes. He tells me, I seemed to remeber two police officers with beatin to death. Then he tried doing the you're a crazy conspiracy theorist thing to me when I told him they did not.

Mighty Armory Contact Phone Number?

Can someone PM me a phone number for Mighty Armory? I placed an order two days ago and my computer auto populated the incorrect shipping address. I didn't realize it until I received the invoice via email. Directions in the email say to reply with any question or concerns. I replied to the email explaining the situation, I filled out the form in the "Contact us" section, again explaining the error, and I started a chat in their system with the same information. I haven't received any communication from them. Thank you kindly in advance.

Sako TRG Precision 338 Lapua Powder?

Hi all,

Picked up some boxes of what I thought I would never get, Sako TRG Precision, 338 Lapua, 300gr SMKs. My 42 loved them beyond reason printing .488 moa 5 shot groups at 100m and just over 3.65” at 1000m.

My question is, what powder did they use? I’m confident they used a VV powder (ie, N570) but neither Sako nor Beretta will respond to my emails or phone calls regarding their load data since they’ve apparently discontinued that line, they have it for every other caliber in the long action/magum that they offer 300 winnie and 9.3mm on the site.

Anyone got some insight on this? Or should I just work with N570 and see what it does? Would love to make these rounds myself instead of the $10/rd I paid and trying to find the ammo.

Thank you

Retical considerations

Dudes, brand new to all this stuff. Trying to figure out the 9000 different reticles and how/when do you want one over the other. Not to mention dialing versus Christmas tree reticles. I have a couple specific questions and a bunch more that I don't even know how to ask yet. So feel free to read my mind and educate me. LOL

When do you prefer to dial versus a Christmas tree? Where is this purely personal preference?

Are there times when you want to scope with both options or do you pick a scope that just offers your favorite?

Is it way better to have a caliber specific reticle so all the holdovers are perfect and line up with the correct distances?

Is a standard Christmas tree style in Mills used primarily just to dial?

There's so much to this. I almost don't even know where to start. What do l need to know?

Long Range for beginners

Hey guys, l got a buddy who's into LR stuff and is always bugging me to go shoot with him. I've had plenty of shooting exp but never stretched it out before. I have a couple of very basic questions.

When you're running a big decked out scope that you can hold off or dial, does the caliber really matter that much? Is drop basically irrelevant and BC the basic consideration?

I have a Ruger Mark ll M77 in 7 mag and a Rem 700 30-06 that I'm not doing anything else with. I could also buy a 6.5 Creedmoor. Will either of the three calibers really be drastically different with the right scope setup?

SOLD WTT ZCO 5-27

I have a 5-27 MPCT2 scope that lives in my safe on my 6GT that I am looking to trade with "obvious" money on my end for two other scopes.

Either
5-25 ATACR ( Mil C)
5-25 Kahles SKMR ( 1,3 or 4 )
5-25 Minox (MR4)
Or possibly
6-36 Gen 3 Razor

I will try and post some updated pics of it after work tomorrow. This was from the last time it was out of the safe earlier this spring.

More excitement from my back'yard'.

I previously shared my immense amusement since moving into the new house of listening to the Horned Owls in the woods behind me (https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/im-a-big-fan-of-owls-personally.7231649/) and also sought out the collective's opinion on a toad (https://www.snipershide.com/shootin...ians-ive-got-a-question-about-a-toad.7232563/) .

Tonight was another first since living here and the topic of discussion is...

Yep- that's right we're talking coyotes. I've long suspected that they were in the area but tonight is the 1st night I've heard them and holy smokes- they're making up for lost time. It sounds like there must be at least a half dozen of 'em but I'm 100% certain they're coyotes. I may be using the wrong terminology but they aren't 'howling' but rather just 'yipping' and freaking the fuck out as they do, it sounds like a whole section of the mountain is covered by them. Here's a quick clip that's dang near a perfect match of what I've been hearing off and on tonight...

I've encountered a few coyotes in the woods over the years here in PA but dang if this isn't the 1st time that the whole other side of the mountain (a couple hundred yards by my estimate) seems to be a literal Disney World for 'em.

Not sure if anyone else has had this happen by their house but my neighbor usually leaves his dog outside and he was going absolutely nuts barking at them. The coyotes were so vocal that I went over to knock on the neighbor's door for the 1st time, not because I was angry about their dog barking (although I wasn't thrilled with that either to be honest) but to ask them if they heard the coyotes (which couldn't have been far from the dog) going nuts and that I was concerned for their dog. We went out back and the neighbor said that he honestly couldn't tell the difference between other dogs and coyotes and once he heard all of the commotion and found out what they were, he thanked me and his dog became an indoor dog (at least for tonight).

This may be common hat to some here- but (as I said) this is new to me, at least in this quantity. What I find to be... IDK just strange about it all is how the coyotes can go absolutely nuts for several minutes and then... nothing. They just seem to go radio silent immediately. I give up waiting outside to listen to them and get back to doing something else and another 40 minutes or so later, I hear them again just going absolutely crazy and then... back to silence.

Is this normal coyote behavior?

Warhammer 40k

Any Warhammer nerds here? Not just the books/videos but the tabletop game also? I’m not…yet, but I can feel myself being pulled into it. I’ve read a few of the Black Library publishing books years ago but never really gave it much more of a chance. I’ve watched the Astartes clips on YouTube like a million times and the new Amazon episode is pretty awesome. I can see myself reading tons of the books and any videos they put out but I’m intrigued by the table game as well. I think painting your own pieces and reading the lore from the source could be really cool too.

This video is amazing and not just because it was done by one superfan over several years. It stands on its own. I love the whole thing but I can’t stop watching the fight scene starting at 3:50. Its some of the hardest shit ever

Ammo 50BMG ammo SLAP, MK211, and misc

I have 46 rounds of 50BMG ammo for sale that’s just been in dry storage for the last 10-15 years and I don’t anticipate I’ll own a rifle anytime soon. I’m basically selling the exotic rounds for market pricing ($100 a round), $3 a round for everything else, and $30 to ship. Yes it’s all legit, I’ll gladly return your money if you x-ray the Raofauss rounds and they are fake, but I guarantee they are legit. Before you get all hot and bothered by the price, please look up the SLAP round and the Raofauss.

$750 shipped for all, I won’t ship to restricted states. I’d rather not split and just sell it all. My wife tells me she wants a new house so this is just going to a down payment so help a guy out here.

Silver tip x19 M8 API
Red over aluminum x4 M20 APIT
Burgundy x5 M17 Tracer
FMJ x2 M33 Ball
Black tip x5 M2 AP
Green over silver x5 Raofauss MK211 Mod0 (HXP89 headstamp)
M903 SLAP x1 (WCC91 headstamp)

PayPal F&F preferred, may work something else out. Please PM me first to prevent scammers. I have tons of feedback on here but more than welcome to video chat, text, talk etc.

Thank you!
