B14R Bedding

Is needing a factory stocked and barrel B14R worth the effort? Has anyone done it?

My older green mountain barreled 10/22 shoots better than the Bergera. CCI green tags are a solid 1 MOA in the 10/22. The B14R can be all over the place at 50 and 100. Think I want to bed before considering a barrel. Also wondering if a better stock would make it worth it. Enjoy toying with things to make them shoot.

Report: Trump Transition Team Looks to Pull U.S. out of W.H.O. ‘On Day One’.

The U.S. will exit the globalist World Health Organization (W.H.O.) on day one of President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration taking power, a report Sunday predicts.
The U.S. is the W.H.O.’s largest single donor. It provides the home to over 8,000 career bureaucrats with about 16 percent of its budget, which in 2024 stood at U.S.$6.83 billion.
It has previously been criticised by conservative voices for its extraordinary drain on U.S. taxpayer funds while Trump has called it a slave to China’s own global ambitions.
According to the Financial Times, members of Trump’s team told the experts of their intention to announce a withdrawal from the Geneva-based health body on January 20 — inauguration day.
The departure would remove the W.H.O.’s biggest source of funds in one fell swoop. The FT report notes the withdrawal will complete a process Trump started last time he was in office:
In 2020, Trump initiated the process to leave the WHO as Covid-19 spread, accusing the agency of being under China’s control. But the process was never finished and his successor Joe Biden restarted relations with the agency on his first day of office in 2021.
Experts have been told that some in Trump’s team want to move much faster this time around after initiating the process immediately.
Ashish Jha, Biden’s former White House coronavirus response co-ordinator and dean of Brown University’s school of public health, told the outlet the transition team wanted Trump to withdraw on the first day because of the “symbolism” of reversing Biden’s own inauguration-day move.
“There are lots of people who are going to be part of the inner circle of the administration who do not trust the W.H.O. and want to symbolically show on day one that they are out,” he said.
The Trump transition team did not comment directly on the potential withdrawal. One person familiar with the plans told the FT: “The same W.H.O. that we left in the first administration? It seems like we wouldn’t much care what they have to say.”
Trump previously criticized the W.H.O. for siding with China despite heavy criticism for their lack of transparency about the coronavirus and its spread and origins, as Breitbart News reported.
“They seem to be very China-centric,” he said in April, 2020. “That’s a nice way of saying it, but they seem to be very China-centric, and they seem to err always on the side of China.”

AND THEN THE UNITED NATIONS!

Need Some Ballistics App Advice

I'm new into long range shooting, doing some NRL Hunter matches and maybe some PRS. I currently have some Sig KILO6K HDX with (from what I understand) Applied Ballistic built in. I'm pretty sure eventually I'll get a Kestrel, but thinking I may just get the one that tells wind speed? I get my pressure, temp and altitude data from my Garmin Fenix 7X.

What app would you recommend? I've been using the Hornady 4DOF, it works well and most of what I shoot are Hornady bullets. I have the old Strelok Pro on an old Android tablet that I really like because it makes a distinction between zeroing conditions, and current shooting conditions. Are there any other apps that take into account the zeroing conditions and the current shooting conditions. My home range is 5000 feet, but I'll shoot from 0 to 10,000 feet and it would be nice to not have to zero every time I change conditions if I don't have the ability to (for example, hunting scenarios)

DNT The One vs Athlon etr 4.5-29

Anybody who has both of these to play with can give me a verdict on GLASS ONLY?

I know the dials on the Athlon has got to be better than the DNT, but I'm only looking at the glass quality on this purchase.

I work hard for this money and it makes feel warm and fuzzy when I look through the eyepiece and see a picture that moves me to tears. Is the DNT close enough to the Athlon that I won't be able to tell a difference between them on mach 1 eyeball?

Thanks y'all.

edit to add: I'm specifically interested in glass quality comparison with both scopes set at ~25x mag.

New to ELR, need help with Cheytac M200 Intervention scope, mount, and zero.

I'm new to ELR, so please be gentle... with that being said, I recently traded for a Cheytac M200 Intervention in .408 caliber and I need some help.

CheyTac's M200 Intervention website says this rifle has a "40 MOA" rail built in.
I purchased a Spuhr 1.18" 0 MIL/0 MOA mount, and a Vortex Razor HD 3-36.
The Razor says it has a max of 36.1 MRAD of elevation adjustment.

Today I fired my first round through the M200. I dialed my scope all the way down, used the zero stop to attempt to zero the rifle at 100 yards... (because that's what I've always done)... and I can't get the scope to travel far enough to be able to zero at 100 yards.

Can someone explain to me how to resolve this situation. Do I need a different mount? Does the built in rail have too much cant for this scope? Would a higher mount like a 1.5" mount make any difference? I'd like to have enough elevation travel to take 1 mile shots at a later date with this setup.

Ammo is DesertTech .408 CT, 2760 fps, BC: G1 .983, 400 grain.

Thanks for reading and hopefully I can get some information to make a more informed decision on how to fix my issue.

Firearms 6.5 creed basic bitch build

T3X / Proof combo from SJA , mdt chassis, 10 and 12 round mags, i have over 100 rounds of 90 grain handloads. I have ran this gun the last 1.5 years coyote hunting and taken hundred of yotes pigs and bobcats. I’d have to count brass, between 4/500 rounds down the pipe. I’m on my 6th load batch of 100 so i feel more confident towards the 500 mark. Gun shoots 1/2 moa all day with me behind it , and have taken several coyotes at 300+ yards. Will entertain trades for a nice 22 arc AR , or 6 Arc ar, or other chassis bolt guns. I can add cash, or other guns that i don’t have listed.

Shortening .22 Rifle Barrel...Any Down Side?

I'm afraid I'm going to start an argument, but anyway...is there any good reason not to shorten a Savage A22 from 22 inches to 16.25 and thread it for a silencer?

My understanding is that velocity pretty much tops out at around 16", so it's not clear what the other 6 inches are for. Shortening the barrel would compensate for the added length of the can, and it would make the barrel more rigid, possibly improving the accuracy a little.

I have read that a long sight radius gives better accuracy, but it kind of sounds like a load to me. When I use a scope, the sight radius is only a few inches, and I get better accuracy than I would with iron sights. The scope can't tell a short rifle from a long one. It will work on either.

Seems to me the problem is fat sights combined with a short sight radius. Fat open sights are harder to use accurately, at least for me. Seems to me I could change the open sights to compensate for a short barrel. And I probably wouldn't use them anyway.

I am trying to be better about killing squirrels in my yard. They have cost me a fortune, and it's time to take the gloves off. I plan to kill them whenever I get the chance, and it would be nice to do it without ear muffs or a 4-foot-long rifle.

Since this is a cheap gun, I would like to do the work myself, but it looks like it's complicated. I would have to turn between centers because my lathe is so big, and I am not sure how to get the bore concentric with the spindle. I am reading up. Apparently, you can't just shove a live center into the muzzle.

I would also like to reattach the front sight, so I would have to drill and tap two holes in the finished barrel.

SOLD Kestrel KST-1000 Shot Timer- $225

I have a Kestrel KST-1000 shot timer I bought from Eurooptic back in June but it has sat in my reloading bench since. I have't had the time to do the type of shooting I bought this to do so I'd like to move it along to someone who can use it.

It will need a new screen protector as I fumbled the installation when I bought it.

$225 delivered (SOLD), payment via PP F&F or Zelle. Reach out with any additional questions. Not looking for any trades at the moment.
