Accessories Crye G3 Combat Pants - M81 (Woodland Camo)

I've got a brand new in package pair of Crye Precision G3 Combat Pants in M81 camo. The size is 32 Regular. These were from OP Tactical's latest drop a week ago. I was lucky enough to snag two pairs, a regular & long. I tried both pairs on and decided to keep the long pair. Instead of messing with the return process, I'll give some on here the shot at them as they're stupid hard to come across in normal sizes, without giving a kidney for them. I'm asking $450 shipped, just enough to cover all the shipping and payment fees and break even on the $375 price tag.

Assembly was basic and straight forward. make sure to think ahead on what and how you'd like to assemble the RD15 Builders kit.

Both the Barrel and Handguard are mandatory thermofit's, just remember that when you Torque the Barrel Nut down it will expand the Handguard Mounting Area of the Upper receiver requiring heat to expand the handguard for proper installation.

Rifle Competition Events Cleaning for Competitions

Everyone and their mother has a different cleaning regime. Different products, different process and different definitions of what cleaning is.

For many years my cleaning process for precision rifles has been follow boretech instructions. Maybe do a cycle or 2. Gun shoots well again and is good for 100-300 rounds before next cleaning.

Then I got a borescope. And I realized how much hard carbon builds up in the grooves , especially in the first 10 inches of a barrel. I suspect I am not really cleaning the barrel fully each time and just adding layers of hard carbon and copper. When I clean I am stripping most of the copper and leaving in carbon? Maybe.

Now what really matters is how it shoots. Is the gun predictable? Does it hold zero , velocity and shot group size over a 250 round weekend?

I am not so much interested in your cleaning regime as in your philosophy on cleaning. I am positive with the right chemicals I can strip this shit out, but do I really need to?

And it goes without saying the accuracy demands, round count and requirements for something like a PRS shooter is much different than F class or Benchrest.

Do most of you feel like getting all the loose shit out of the bore is cleaning? Do you think you need to strip it down to steel to be clean? What have you experienced performance wise doing different methods?

I recently went back to Sweets 7.62 since its a much more effective solvent than Eliminator or C4, as well as using oversized brass brushes (6.5 for 6mm). It seems to pull more shit out but the brushes also wear out super fast. I might get 4-5 cycles of wet patch/scrub with brush before the brush is wore out and i feel little resistance in bore.

Blue Buffer spring drama. Malfunctions with new springs. Anyone else seen this?

I go through the ARs I compete with and replace cam pins, firing pin retainers and this year I decided to change buffer springs. My main competition rifle is five years old and though it only has about 3500 rounds in it I figured why not.

Main rifles have mil spec carbine receiver extensions and all have 4oz Spikes Tactical carbine buffers. I ordered three Springco blue springs and swapped them out. Blue slings were about 1” longer than the ones I pulled so I thought at the time I made a good choice .

Issue 1. Shot about 60 rounds down a 14.5 with 5.56 RC2 ran fine. Cases drop 3’ away at 4 o’clock. All good. I put the rifle up dirty with an ECI in it. Pulled it out to get it ready for some shooting after our 3 x 1000 today. Remove the ECI, hit the bolt release and nothing. Bolt didn’t budge. I pull the charging handle back a couple times and nothing. I smack the stock with my hand and the bolt dropped. Cycles fine afterwards and shot fine but this was odd. Never seen this before. Tube and buffer are smooth, no scratches, no excessive fouling.

Issue 2: Today I bring my 15.1” RECCE out with AEM5. First time I have shot it with the new spring. I can’t get through 4 shots without the bolt skipping over the case and jamming the rifle. Did it four times. Buddy had his 14.5 with him with standard mil spec spring. We swapped them and it Ran through 30 rounds with no issues.

I’m not shitting on these springs but I’m not happy . It seems like the one in the 14.5” bound up and the one in the RECCE was too strong/fast and wouldn’t reliably run with my USGI 30 rounder or my buddies 20 round colt mag.

Anyone else ran into anything like this with these blue springs?

R700 300wm to 7prc advice needed..

Just got an elk tag and pulled an old 300wm out of the safe, it probably hasn’t been shot in 7 years. I noticed the muzzle threads are messed up, I sent it to be threaded years ago and there is no relief cut between the threads and shoulder so a suppressor or muzzle device doesn’t have a square shoulder to index on. Anyways I want to order a new barrel for it and am thinking about going the 7prc route. Everything I read says going from 300wm to 7prc is just a barrel change, I read they share the same bolt face. My question is will the 7prc cartridge fit in an old AI mag designed for 300 wm? I also need to decide on barrel length and profile, I’m kinda leaning towards 22” sendero, but open to any advice.

Shoots Hornady 88gr ELDM and 75gr ELDM Black Factory ammo very well, Suppressed and unsuppressed. Hates the 62gr ELD-VT

Only 40rds down the the barrel, the 88's look very promising. I'll put another 100rds down the barrel and update as the barrel breaks in.

I'll most likely start Load Development with the 75 ELD's, with TAC and XBR.

The Most Insidious Tracking Software on the Planet

Drum Roll.... It's Microsoft "Copilot". And it's included in every new Windows update. It fully tracks every fucking thing you do in all of your devices. Including online credit card transactions. That includes everything, ammo purchases included...

I've been tracking that shit for a while now and it's out of control! It tracks EVERYTHING. Of Course they'll you it doesn't ;)

So, I went and tried to disable it. Guess what? It can be done but it takes a deep dive. Furthermore, if you have the same MS apps in say Apple devices, you can't get rid of it without fully deleting your MS apps for good.

The only way to do it is to erase that apps in Apple. If you put them back in they start tracking again. I finally got that stuff out of all my Windows software - one machine at a time, but I'm sure the damn Copilot will all come back on any auto/manual update you choose to do on your windows software.

The way to fully take it out of Windows at present is to go the System page and completely delete Copilot from there. That's working, for now. Have to do it on every device.

And, there is no way to take it out from Apple devices that are running Windows apps without permanently removing those apps.

Talk about "Big Brother. Frack!
