Ice Bullet

What are some of the practical considerations of properly making and shooting an ice bullet? I've seen a few videos on YouTube about this but none actually load an ammo and shot at practical distance so I thought it might be an interesting video to make if possible.
  1. Lead is ~10x as dense as ice, so the bullet will be 1/10 the weight if I make a mold using an actual ice bullet.
    1. Make the ice bullet longer? But even at 2x the length it will still just be 1/5 of the weight.
    2. Use some other metal that's liquid at room temperature? Mercury?
  2. Regardless of which material is choosen, the ammo and probably also the barrelled action will need to be cooled with dry ice prior to firing.
  3. How does different in density (e.g. same shape but much lighter) affect the internal ballistic and thus load development?
  4. While the ability to stay intact during flight is important, I'm more concerened about the bullet stay intact before existing the barrel, will ice/solid mecury be able to do that?
  5. Maybe to keep it simple, start with making a 50cal slug for muzzleloader before making a complete modern cased cartiage?
  6. What else am I missing and why am I crazy for even considering this?

Seekins DMR 223 Wylde or Piece together

Any experience with the Seekins DMR in 223 Wylde? Been looking at piecing together a 5.56/.223 "precision" build for awhile.

Originally looking at putting a WOA complete upper with their predator 20'" barrel on a LWRC lower with a Larue trigger. That build would come in a couple hundred cheaper than the Seekins but wondering if buying the overall rifle from Seekins would be better for overall tolerances/ready to go out of the box. Thanks!

Speaker Johnson: California Disaster Relief Likely to Have Strings Attached.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that California disaster relief would have strings attached.
Host Kristen Welker said, “Let’s talk about disaster relief for California. I want to tell you something that California Governor Gavin Newsom wrote recently. He said, ‘There must be no conditions, no strings attached to disaster aid.’ And yet we know that there’s a big conversation happening right now on Capitol Hill about linking disaster aid for California to an increase in the debt limit which has been a traditionally really thorny issue. Are you and can you commit that California disaster relief won’t have strings attached?”
Johnson said, “No, I won’t commit that because we have a serious problem in California. Listen, there are natural disasters. I’m from Louisiana. We are prone to that. We understand how these things work and then there is also human error. When they make policies that make disaster worse, we have to factor that in. In California, over the last couple of years, they cut $100 million from forestry management and cut $18 million from L.A.’s Fire Department, putting them into the other crazy priorities and 117 million gallon reservoir that was left empty for a year outside Pacific Palisades. Those are decisions they made based on whatever their ideas were, but it made it worse, and everyone knew it would, and the risk was there.”
Welker said, “So it could be linked to the debt limit.”
Johnson said, “Potentially, that’s one of the things we’re talking about.”

DAMN RIGHT IT SHOULD HAVE STRINGS ATTACHED AND SHOULD ONLY BE SPENT WITH APPROVED SUPPLIERS!

Ocular setup for the SG Pulse level system, by ElevenEight Designs

Hey everyone!!

Checkout my new product “The Pulse Pack” ocular mount for the Shooters Global SG Pulse by ElevenEight Designs.

The Pulse Pack allows you to transmit the outputs directly through a series of fibers and view the readout right at the ocular end of your optic. Stay 100% target focused and easily monitor your level status.

We are offering two choices on the case, both colors of our unique case design facilitate the activation of your on/off and selection of modes right through the case

**Clear**
This is a great choice for the user who wants to still see the readout easily directly at the SG Pulse unit.

**Blackout “Stealth”
This choice is for the user who may not want to be distracted by the readout directly at the unit, or who may wish to hide the output from the unit in hunting or lowlight situations.

Two seperate lengths are available as well. The 12”/1’ long fiber option will take care of the majority of users. For others who may want a more remote setup of their system we are offering 2’ per fiber as an option as well.

Our scope mount will conform to any ocular size and is attached with a simple Velcro strap.

The Pulse case as well as the ocular housing are both made of a high strength yet very flexible material. This allows the case to function as a push button for operation of the Pulse. It also allows the ocular housing to just simply conform to multiple sizes and diameters of optics.

I’d also like to add our specially selected fibers are extremely flexible and practically unbreakable. They can be bent at extreme angles, even tied in a knot without breakage. The fibers are very easy to cut to your desired setup length. The only tool you need to install our system is a fresh sharp razor blade (scissors or other cutting tools work okay too, but for the best performance at the ocular end a fresh blade on a hard surface provides the optimal cut for light transmission in the fiber)

Co-Ax parts holder print

Decided I wanted to have the extra parts for the Co-Ax handy for when I am swapping jaws or to hold the priming attachments. Threw this together in Fusion 360 and designed it to mount on the two holes behind the press on the Inline Fab mount I use, but would pretty easily be mounted on something else.

Will share the file if anyone is interested.

Suppressors 338ARC AR can choice: 9mm or 338?

Picked up a KAK 338 ARC 8.5 AR15 barrel on impulse and figured it's a good excuse as any to get a 9mm can.

That said, are 300BO sub rated pistol cans also good for 338ARC? If so, anyone have a particular favorite?

I don't care so much about overall sound performance or weight as I do flash/heat reduction since I plan to shoot with a dedicated thermal sight.

Ideally something HUB compatible.

If *not* a 9mm can, should I just send it on a 338 magnum can from Surefire or TBAC?
