Been using a Hornady auto charge pro (the newer model) for loading 223 for PRS tac class. I have consistently struggled with high ES (up to 80 fps over 20 rounds). At this point, I’m starting to think it’s my auto charge. I had a buddy load some of my ammo up using his fx120i, and should have results from the range soon.

Assuming , it’s the scale and powder charge, are there any decent options that aren’t gonna run be $1k+ like the fx120 and trickler combo? I’m not seeking insane levels of performance, but an ES of 80 isn’t cutting it. Can I expect better with the charge master supreme or matchmaster? I know it’s also +\-.1 grain or +\-.02 respectively.

Any real world expectations of what you guys run for for 223 and your numbers? I don’t know if I can stomach $1k right now

Why are we seeing so many ziess s3 for sale? Are they not holding up and tracking? Is the glass not that great what would they compare with? Also seems to be a fair amount of zco forsale what’s the deal with so many of them being sold? Maybe someone just spent to much money on an impulse buy as a new shooter and they just don’t want to sit in that much money invested in a scope. I’m looking to upgrade my optics a couple of hunting with longer shots, and some more for dialing shooting long range steel and PRs nrl style shooting.

Just thinking out loud here so humor me:

If my tripod is collapsed and stowed on my pack such that it is set to a kneeling height to quickly deploy is that okay? If this is the length I kept it during regular hunting for quick deployment would it not be representing how I actually hunt? And finally to complete this thought, if my 3-section tripod is stowed at the same length as a longer 2 section--shouldn't that be allowed? The rules read fully collapsed, but does a guy seriously have to buy a 2 section gamer tripod when he could just keep his 3 section at the same deployment length?

I own 2 different RRS tripods, an Ascent and a 34 (both with anvil-30's)--so this question does not stem from a financial view--more of a common sense question.

I just resized some 7 PRC cases using Hornady full length dies. The brass is Hornady factory ammo once fired. After full length sizing I’m measuring 0.530” at base (above case head); SAMMI dimension is 0.532”. Aslso the neck is 0.314”; SAMMI is 0.317”. Is this normal to be a few thousandths smaller? Inside neck diameter is 0.281” which gives 0.003 neck tension which sounds reasonable.
