Hi all, looking for some advice from those more experienced in long-range shooting and to an extent hunting as well. I recently built an Aero Precision M5E1 20" 6.5CM (price of build ~$2000, putting pricing for context later) in FDE that I've function checked but have not taken out to fully test. I also recently purchased a SCAR 20S in 6.5CM (also a 20" barrel) at a really stellar price of $2850 and no sales tax. I'm really looking to have two long range options, with one being a bolt, so selling one of the above gas rifles. The bolt would ideally be good to 800-1000yds and also be good for hunting, so I was thinking maybe also 6.5CM but not sure.

Question as I'm somewhat of a novice when it comes to long-distance shooting: if you were me, would you sell the Aero at a loss (maybe get $1400 for it) or the SCAR at a profit (probably could sell at $3500), and keep the other, and what would you recommend for bolt rifle? I'm familiar with Tikka, and I'd like to have just 1 bolt and 1 gas that can go long distance. I'm also familiar with 30 06 as a rifle round and certainly .308, but not as familiar with other hunting rounds. For brands I'm familiar with, they include Bergara, Savage and Remington, amongst others and Tikka. Probably looking in the $1k-$2k price range, really just want good value for the money (price obviously not inclusive of glass). All advice welcome and appreciated, thank you.

Spinning up a 1-8" 6br barrel to try shooting some matches this year. I've got 500-ish 105 vld's, but will need more bullets soon enough. I'm pretty new to PRS style shooting, so bullet choice won't be a limiting factor in my performance for while, but would love to hear what has worked for others. Rifle is a Tikka in a Whiskey 3, with a 5-20 Razor Gen 1. Been shooting 139 scenars out of 6.5 creed up until now.

I'm working on reloading 6.5 Creedmoor. After looking at saami specs and hornady book... Numbers don't seem to match up.

All my factory ammo when using the hornady compactor headspace tool seems to measure the headspace using the .400 D gauge at 1.531 - 1.533 - knowing Saami isn't that.. I'm guessing the gauge is more of a reference vs an exact measurement?! Just making sure I'm not going insane or something is off.. My calipers are zeroed with with the comparator on. Any info or encouragement is much appreciated!

I’m looking my for something new, I’m currently just using cheap safety glass from Amazon but they have been fogging up on me ever since this summer. My sunglasses do not fog but I see better through clear lenses.

Sig cross in 300wsm

Was sitting around thinking about a project and was wandering if there would be any problems with converting a cross to 300wsm?

I suppose it’s just a matter of my smith being comfortable opening up the bolt face and the real challenge being the barrel.

Any advice?

Has anyone gotten their hands on the new 212’s yet, the Vortex Nation guys did a segment that piqued my interest. They did it in a 300 WSM case that would fit in a standard long action but I have a CdG long action that is CIP length and could seat the 212’s out where they need to be in a WinMag case or PRC case.
