Suppressors HUB MOUNT QUESTION

I have a Vox-S with the Rearden Atlas Mount and it is currently torqued to 35 ft lbs with anti seize. Everything works great. I only shot a few mags through it.

With that being said, should I use Rocksett? Is it a necessity? More harm than good? Just trying to decide if leave it as is or put a drop or two of Rocksett on threads and torque to spec. Thanks.

SOLD 18” PVA ARC Barloc barrel

18” PVA, 6.5 Creedmoor, 8 Twist, Marksman contour, Nucleus Prefit with shouldered Barloc cut - $325 Shipped conus

Less than 200 rounds on it per the orignal owner. I bought this and never even torqued it down to use it on my action.

Comes with a spacer that should allow it to shoulder to arc actions without the Barloc. (Say should as I never ended up using it)

5/8x24 muzzle threads.

Pm me with any questions, trade offers etc

Gordon-ish Setup with OCM5 Question

Does anyone here have experience with the Ops Inc style collar system?

I'm putting together a Gordon-type, and I wanted to run this BOM by someone before I start accumulating parts:

H&R C7 Upper Black
Criterion HYBRID 12.5" Barrel
Non-F marked FSB, .750"
OPS INC™ MK12 MOD ? SPR Collar... long or short? Is it just aesthetic? I think short.
Ops Inc Brake - LONG (AE just dropped a helpful video on this and I prefer shims to time)

I want it to be setup like the 9-hole Reviews Gordon vs clone correct with the 3 piece collar... and even though I'm using the lightweight OCM5, I'm not sensitive to barrel weight and prefer a more rigid, heavier barrel for anything that gets a suppressor on the end.
Screenshot 2025-01-12 at 9.59.10 AM.png

I think the collar requires .750, and the Criterion has that at the gas block... but it steps down slightly- is this a NO GO?

TIA for anyone who can help steer me in the right direction!

Night Vision Help understanding non-prisim thermal clip on magnification

@koshkin @wigwamitus or anyone else who understands this stuff - can you explain how any of the lower end (non-Risley prisim) thermal clip ons work with their base magnification not being 1x/unity? I see that the Armasight Jockey 640 is actually a 1x thermal, so by my understanding it would work well with a daytime optic as you would have all of the 1024 x 768 pixels of the screen to work with as you zoom in beyond 1x on your (presumably) LPVO. They claim it's good to 6x, which I imagine is probably at the very limits of usable.

Being outside the US with limited options, the DNT series of Hydra thermals sure look interesting, especially at the price they are going for. I did up a quick table below to see if I can understand how they work as none have a 1x/unity base magnification.

DNTHydraSeriesArmasight
HS635HS325HS225HS650Jockey 640
Sensor H640384256640640
Sensor V512288192512480
Display H10241024102410241024
Display V768768768768768
Base Magnification1.52321
Unity H682.7512341.35121024
Unity V512384256384768
Max rec mag43236
Pixels H/x170.7170.7170.7170.7170.7

So the first couple of rows are the specs of the sensor and the display. I'm assuming that to get back to 1x for clip on use, the image on screen is reduced in size inversely to the base magnification - so using 2/3 of the screen for the HS635 and only 1/3 of the screen for the HS225. By my reckoning, that means that at unity, there are about 683 x 512 pixels for the HS635 image of the sensor versus a paltry 341 x 256 for the HS225.

Assuming I have that right, it would also seem to indicate that the HS635 would offer higher magnification before things become fuzzy on the daytime optic? I looked at the Jockey pixels and assumed at 6x (max recommended) you would have about 171 pixels horizontally (wow) so working back from that I figure the HS635 might get you up to 4x on the daytime and the HS225 a lousy 2x.

Am I understanding this correctly or am I totally off base? Seems like the better options for scanning (moderate base magnification) are lousy for clip on use and the good clip ons would be lousy scanners...?

“There’s a man he must be the one “

Responding to call of man with a gun, they saw a man and shot him to death, the man they shot was bold enough to be sitting under a gazebo in a public park. Unarmed and committing no crimes . That in its self is so suspicious they probably should have shot him on principle

Getting closer - at least they found a man !

The man they were looking was the truck they were were looking for dead by suicide. But can’t expect them to find both the correct vehicle and then the right person on the same call . 50/50 at best like the raffle!
