Issue:
more often than not, I get a FTE/Stuck Case, I then have to use a cleaning rod to push the cartridge out by entering the muzzle. Pushing it out takes 0 force so I think it could be boltface/extractor issue.

Just got a text about a shooting at the Naval Academy.

I have a buddy that been having his action screws coming loose repeatedly. He’s running a Terminus Zeus action in a MDT acc elite chassis.

The chassis is not bedded and the action screws are torqued to 65in-lb. Yet the screws seem to come loose with 100 rounds of shooting.

Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

She is mint, only shows some dust from sitting on my bench for a couple months.

Another almost McMillan M40A1 - HTG stock, Rem 700 SA footprint, M5 bottom metal cut. Great condition, I cannot make out ANY kind of field or bench wear, previously bedded for a 700 SA! Excellent bedding job. Defined dark forest color with 3 sling studs and a 1/2-3/4” black pad.

Barrel channel is Remington Varmint, not M24, and in some wsys a better set up than McMillan’s normal M24/MTU barrel channels, this can be sanded out or milled out to better match the barrel profile. (If you running a true Schneider #7 or M24 Hart) The standard McMillan M24/MTU channel leaves a small gap along the barrel. If your running a varmint contour all the better, this is perfect. I tossed a verifiable varmint contour barrel blank in and perfect.

I have used QuickLOAD successfully for many years.

I am developing loads for the Barnes 50 gr Varmint Grenade for two .223 rifles.

The first, a custom rifle with 26 inch Proof barrel, shot H335 OK, but Accurate 2520 made bug holes. I adjusted the burn rate to match the actual velocity, found an OBT load, and was done.

The second, a Blaser LRS with a 25 inch barrel, is proving a challenge. The problem is actual velocities are below what QuickLOAD predicts by over 300 fps. I have never seen such a big difference before. The Barnes recommended max load of 2520 is 29 gr. QuickLOAD predicts 90,000 psi. I haven't gone above 26.7 gr—no pressure signs. Everything shoots into one moa.

If the first rifle were showing similarly odd behavior, I would conclude QuickLOAD has the 2520 data seriously wrong, but their assumptions worked in one rifle, but not the second.

I'm stumped and would appreciate some help.

I am in the market to upgrade my reloading bench. Currently my bench has a manual trimmer, handheld chamfer/deburr tool, a charge master supreme but no annealer. I am looking at the amp annealer, autotrickler, and the Henderson power trimmer.

Would it be more wise to purchase the annealer first or the auto trickler and power trimmer since they are about the same price together?
