Weatherby Alpine CT 7 PRC review

I was planning on building a new 7PRC but then I came across some reviews on the new Weatherby 307's. The Alpine CT was basically the same gun I was planning to build with the same Peak 44 stock. Buying one saved me about $1500 so I decided I'd give it a try. They guarantee 1 MOA and alot of the reports I saw had them shooting better than that. I put a Maven RS 1.2 scope with Nightforce rings on it. Cleaned it and broke in the barrel trying out a few different factory loads. It feels great and shoots very well. I have no complaints on the gun or the scope. Best results so far were 3 shots .5" using Federal 175 ELDX running 2880 fps. with the Hornady 175 ELDX coming in right behind it at .75" at 2835 fps. Hopefully it gets even better with a few more rounds down the tube. It also weighs in at 8 lbs 6 oz scoped.

22 cal Slug/lead bullet BC's

This is why I've gone to slugs for my more powerful pcp's, specifically the Altaros slugs, for the longer distance shooting and competitions.

Way back many years ago here on SH I learned about environmentals and have been applying that knowledge to airguns ever since.

I can't help but admire Matt because he's always been a straight forward guy and a great shooter.

Hopefully these new X slugs will be a cheaper alternative than Altaros when they arrive on the market.

Yes I also have less powerful sub 30 fpe pcp's that I use pellets in exclusively but it's quite a different experience. I appreciate both types of projectiles and the attributes each offer.

Firearms Thunderbeast TBAC .338 Ultra

TBAC .338 Ultra with Area419 adapter. $1,650 shipped/insured.

I’ve had this several years and put less than 50 combined rounds of .223 and 6.5 Grendel through it. I do not like recoil and don’t have access to long-range shooting locally, so have no plans for a large caliber rifle.

Might entertain trades for high end Binos, Sako/Tikka 6.5 Creedmoor + glass.

If you are in Louisiana and have good references, we might can get this in your hands sooner than later. PM me.

7Prc not grouping

good day. so i got a custom rifle built with a heller arms EV5 26 inch barrel in 7prc.
got about 40 rounds in it now. have tried 3 different types of ammo that i could lay my hands onto.
hornady precision hunter 175gr, hornady outfitter 160gr, and hornady eld match 180gr.

shot all 3 boxes twice now. hornady precision hunter grouping 1.09 or worse, hornady 160 outfitter grouping .689 or worse, hornady 180gr eld match 1.91 or worse 10 shot groups. any suggestions. the only thing is for sure is that the outfitter rounds dont always chamber. have 6 out of a box of 20 that would not chamber.
second pic is of the second day.

any suggestions would help!!
thanks

For those who’ve done Mammoth …

A friend and I want to do Mammoth in 2027. Obviously I need to get my ass in shape, but I’m also looking at the larger pieces of gear I don’t have. How unrealistic is it to shoot without a weapon mounted laser rangefinder? Seems like most serious competitors are running the Vortex Impact 4000, but I’ve also seen a lot of reports of it being unreliable. I have a pair of Vortext Fury binos, that I would trade up to the AB version. It just seems like I’d be leaving so much on the table doing it that way vs the WMLRF.

I’m also thinking of running one tripod between the two of us, but leaving the ball head behind and shooting off a bag on top of it if needed.

For some context: We have no illusions of winning or placing. We are going for the experience and our goal is finishing all of the rucks and having a good time. My partner is going to be a friend who has essentially zero shooting experience in either rifles or pistols, and absolutely zero experience shooting long range. Hence our 2027 timeline. He’s going to start accumulating gear and shoot PRS matches with me next season. None of my shooting partners are interested in something like Mammoth, but he is. It’s right up our alley of loving a good dose of suffering. I figure it’s going to be easier to teach him to shoot, than to teach my shooting buddies to ruck and love a good suck fest. Him and I are both ultralight backpackers and have tons of experience living out of our packs in all conditions, so the camping, rucking part isn’t as intimidating to us, although we know very well just how difficult it will be.

How do these idea sound for those who have completed it?

Accessories Left Hand AXMC 308 Bolt Body

Hi everyone,

I find myself having 2 LH AXMC 308 bolts. I just bought a new one (the last one in stock at EO) to convert it to a 300 WM boltface. After I ordered it, another member found himself with 2 LH 300 WM bolt bodies. I bought one. Now I am selling my used LH 308 bolt body. It is in excellent shape. Please see some photos.

SOLD Agency Arms G19/ RM06/ Surefire XC2

Have an Agency Arms G19 Gen4. 2018 build with about 1000 rds on it. Bore is still flawless and has some slight holster wear. But nothing crazy. This was an expensive optioned build. Everything Multicam including the trigger. Can come with or without the RMR. It’s an RM06 3.25 MOA in great shape. Has Trijicon suppressor night sights. And a Surefire XC2 and holster that fits it. 2 mags, one black and one tan. Have boxes and documents for both. As well as the Certificate of Authenticity for the Agency.

Will trade with the rifle I have listed for a SR25 or nice 2011s. Really want a STI DVC c or similar with dragon scale grips.

Sale price is $2100 without RMR, and $2500 with. For either of those prices, you get the Surefire and holster also.

AI AW Single Feed Magazine

I have been running AW magazines for a few years with my CDG in a Xylo chassis. I find myself trying to single feed rounds instead of using the magazine.
I went out of my way to 3D scan an AI AW mag and reverse engineered the geometry to print myself a single feed magazine out of PA6-GF30 Nylon. Since I don't know of any company that makes one, I might as well make one myself. I there any need for these other than my own?
thanks for viewing. - Austin
