DIY case concentricity gauge

I designed this concentricity gauge which as best I can tell is fairly unique as it supports measuring both OD and ID of the neck. Like the 21st Century, it uses a test indicator gauge which is more accurate than plunger style dial indicator seen on most designs.

Precision is maintained via inexpensive, yet precision ground ball bearings rather than relying on other options which may induce additional measured runout. And yes, it bolts down to an Inline Precision mount. :)

If you're interested in building your own, the STL files for printing, BOM, and instructions are available for free: https://www.printables.com/model/1136890-precision-reloading-concentricity-runout-gauge

Any updates on 6.8 X 51

Hi, new/old member here, first time poster, go ahead, pile on. LoL

I am thinking on adding a new caliber to my rifle collection, and is chewing on the idea of 6.8 X 51 over 6.5 Creedmoor.
Is there any updates wrt the Army fulling adopting the 6.8 cartridge?
Heard lots of rumor about the new cartridge, mostly bad, but then, there is always toothing pain when adopting a new cartridge. There were lots of complain when switching from 30-06 to 7.62 X 51, and then to 5.56 X 45.
Main driver is logistics, will the cartridge be mass produce, by multiple ammo manufacturers, other than Sig Sauer.

I would also love the see, Accuracy International AT-XC be chambered for the 6.8 X 51, if the Army fully adopt the cartridge.
I see advantage with 6.8X51 heavier bullet, higher velocity, and higher energy at 1000 Yards and more, than 6.5 Creedmoor, but then, will the bi-metal case be reloadable?

SOLD JP Enterprises CTR-02 in .223- Like New - $1950 OBO

The rifle has approximately 150 rounds fired, including the 40 from the JP-recommended barrel break-in using Hornady ammo. I bought it to shoot matches with but never got around to any gas-gun matches.

Trigger is as good as my competition bolt guns, the action is smooth, and it shoots great with any decent ammo. Never used handloads. It has a thermal dissipation system, LMOS (low mass operating system), and a cryogenically treated barrel. Great for PRS-style matches in the gas gun division.

Feel free to message me with any questions you may have. I'm asking $1950 OBO shipped to your FFL via 2nd Day UPS insured. PayPal FF, Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle. I can meet in the Fort Benning, GA, area

Good Cheap Front Rest Taller than Caldwell Rock Jr.?

Sometimes I like to shoot seated at a bench, but I don't have a good front rest. Of course I have a bag, and a long time ago, I bought a Rock Jr., but the Rock Jr. tops out at 7.5", so you really have to get down on your belly to use it while seated.

Is there anything cheap anyone here could recommend? I can make something from wood, but I really don't want to. I would like something that goes at least two inches higher.

I don't want to carry a board around and put it under the Rock Jr.

Subsonic lever gun caliber

Looking for a lever gun to shoot subsonic and trying to decide between 444 Marlin and 45-70. Mustly shooting suppressed for hunting. I like the 45-70 having a larger bullet, since at 1000fps the only way to increase energy is a heavier bullet. My question is will the 458 bullets reliably expand at 1000 fps since they are designed for rifle velocities? I know the 429 bullets of the 444 are designed for pistols ans will expand nicely atsubsonic speeds.

Big meat thread.

Spent the weekend butchering up some rib roasts, a chuck roll, and making brats. Here’s a peak of my meat.
