Oh darned another storm hitting next weekend.

Just in time to possible royally mess up the back to back matches at Altus next weekend. Maybe not a direct hit but rain and wind abound when one of these storms pass by.

Wind makes it interesting, but after Peason Ridge and Vietnam, I’m allergic to standing outside in a cold, wet rain. Snow, I’m good to go, I have clothes for that, but damp cold chills me to the bones. Literally and physically can’t tolerate it anymore.

SOLD Nightforce NXS - 5.5-22x56

Up for sale is my 5.5-22x56 with NPR 2 reticle and .25 MOA turrets (the 1.125” rings are included as well).

The optic is a police trade in so there are a few scuffs, but overall it’s in great shape. Most of the scuffs are covered if you run butler creek scope caps. Everything functions properly.

For those building an mk13 mod 0 or 3 (and possibly an early mod 5), this is a good candidate to use on your rifle (low speed turret, etc). The serial number starts with “N0” which is what you’ll find on the nav spec optics issued in 2003 / that were used initially on the mod 0’s. There are several pictures of stocks and return cases with “N0” prefix scope serial numbers, and I validated this directly with Nightforce.

$## shipped via FedEx ground with a signature requirement. No trades at this time.

Reach out with any questions.

Browning Max Target Competition Heavy Barrel 6GT

Good morning, been awhile since I've posted. I found the above rifle for a good price as I've been looking for something off the shelf with great accuracy. This rifle looks great on paper (super heavy barrel, and it's a 6GT) but wanted to get you guys' opinion before I got too interested. Primary use will be as a bench rifle just for recreation. Pros, cons? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tha is,
Richard

Are you a Vet having a rough night? Click here.

If you're having a REALLY bad night, just dial 988 and hit option '1'.

If you want to IM, I've got ya, go to: https://www.veteranscrisisline.net/get-help-now/chat

(Please don't let the 'crisis' moniker scare you off)- by all means you can shit talk the hell out of them but all that link will do is have you IM'ing a fellow Vet.

If you say the hell with calling or web browsing and just want to text and shit post that way, I've got ya there too, just text '838255' . Please feel free to share your trolling of that option of a fellow Vet volunteering their time.

Not happy with the above options? Are you a combat vet (like myself) that doesn't want to talk to the same support network that the MOS's that stayed in the FOB/COB/whatever did? I've got you too.

Call: +18669661020

That'll put you in touch with someone better... experienced with what might be bothering you.

Don't want to call anyone- I've still got your six, just go to: https://health.mil/Military-Health-...h-Center-of-Excellence/Real-Warriors-Campaign

That link will let you IM someone from the combat arm world so at least you'd be talking with someone that understands where you're coming from.

I'll post more links as I find them- dollars to doughnuts, this is going to be a rough week for our vets.

The last time...

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Just silly things really but also a bit profound. Just moments in time that escape all of us and without even giving it a second thought (as the moment passed) that part of our life was gone and we never saw it coming. As an example-

-The last time you tied the shoelaces for your child.

-The last time you had your 'first kiss'

-The last time you spent with your friends in High School

-The last time you spent together with whichever relative that comes to mind

-The last time your spouse shared something with you that nobody else knew

-The last time you had your heart broken by someone

-The last time you saw a piece of art that just completely moved you in a way that you didn't know was even possible.

Etc, Etc, but that's what I'm thinking of tonight. Not sure if anyone else has had similar thoughts.

Discovery LHD 8-32x56

The Discovery LHD 8-32x56 is a surprisingly low priced 32x scope. Unlike previous long-range scopes from Discovery, my sample model did not come with scope rings. This may be a new direction from Discovery, hoping to move away from the perception that they are a "budget brand" that come with plethora of accessories.

The LHD appears made for long range Benchrest style shooting at over 2lbs (35.6 oz). It has tall, non-locking turrets which provide loud and tactile positive clicks. The elevation turret has a cog-and-tooth style zero stop which is solid and repeatable. In my range testing, the turret tracked precisely to my MIL grid target at 100yrds.

The magnification ring was stiff but thankfully it comes with metal throw lever, which it needs. The LHD uses relatively sharp HD glass which exhibits typical amounts of chromatic aberration (CA). This CA reduces contrast and sharpness at its highest magnification, which takes away from what on paper should be an impressive 32x.

The LHD has a FFP Christmas Tree reticle that is mostly skeletonized and thin to optimize visibility at higher magnification and longer distance objects. The illumination lights up the center 1/4 of of the cross hairs and is low-light/twilight bright. Helpful for black bullseye targets or shooting in early dawn or dusk but not "daylight bright".

A disappointment in this scope for me is its tight eyebox. Even at it widest setting of 8x the scope has an unforgiving eyebox that only gets tighter that higher you crank the magnification. For a Benchrest or F/class shooter this isn't as much of an issue; but may be a non-starter for a PRS shooter.

Overall performance and build quality reminds me a lot of the Arken SH4. The LHD offers similar performance at higher magnification for just under $250. While this scope won't compare with a Athlon Ares or Vortex Golden Eagle, the LHD outperforms anything in its price class.

Firearms Colt M2012 .308 Rifle

Up for sale is a lightly used Colt M2012 in 308. Probably has 500 rounds through it, mostly of norma or federal match ammo. This is the model that has a spiral fluted barrel. The original muzzle brake has been replaced with one made by my local gunsmith, he also coated the rifle as well. I added a area419 rail and adjustable cheek rest to it. Will not come with a mag unless I can find the original 5 round mag. Could add a lightly used 10 round mag for an additional fee. Asking 1700 shipped and insured to your ffl. I would rather they accept from a private individual, if not please add $25 for the transfer fee from my ffl.

Payment via PP, Venmo, or USPS MO
