I am currently running a 20" Wilson Super Sniper in 308 Win lately. It been amazing and is absurdly accurate. I also shoot a Seekins PWS MK218 which is another excellent rifle. Something I have noticed with both as I develop loads for them: Even factory 147 gr FMJ tend to have substantial ejector swipes and flattened primers. I was running Aguila today and all the casing are non-reloadable due to ejector peel marks, from both rifles. I tried some handloads I was working up for a bolt gun, a minimum charge of Varget, same thing. Is this a common issue with AR10s? I will admit I do not shoot mine often, its usually a 300blk or one of my bolt action rifles. It seems a waste of good brass.

I have a Tikka T3x Varmint in .223 Rem with 380 rounds on the barrel. Barrel was threaded 5/8x24 and contoured by ADCO with a custom collar for Allen Engineering AEM5 or Otter Creak Labs OCM5. Factory stock is brand new, never been fielded. Has YoDave trigger spring, also have factory spring. Comes with 1 T3 polymer magazine. Have box and docs.

Varmint does not come with a scope base from the factory but I have an Area 419 20MOA base for it if interested for additional cost.

I read through many of the topics on here regarding the topic but I’m not sure if I could find and answer to my questions.

I am former infantry and got to use more than a few thermal and night vision devises. I try to keep up with some standard of tactics and shooting in the civ div. Things have certainly changed since the GWOT days. Unfortunately my budget is not the same as the military. I do some coyote hunting on my property and plenty of LARPing with the boys.

I live in the west mountain area and frequently run and gun and shoot some longer ranges usually out to 1000m

My 6.5 Grendel in a 12.5” barrel has really been good to me and I would like to get a clip on thermal scope for that rifle. It’s topped with a Burris xtr 2 2x10. What clip on should I consider with a budget of around 3-5k. What models should I keep an eye out for on the new and used market to put on this rifle considering the limited rail space. Ideally I would like to shoot out to 500 yards using the thermal device.
