First post here! I’ve always wanted a long range bolt action rifle, and decided to sell an AR and pick one up.

My search took me to Gunbroker where I found an interesting rifle. After purchasing it, I started doing some digging on my gamble.

I called Defiance and they have gave me the name of the builder it was shipped to - Gene Gordner of Kalispell. He was the head gunsmith at Montana Custom Rifles and Kilimanjaro Rifles before retiring. I spoke with him, super nice guy, and said he built it back in 2014 and most likely used a Bartlein or Liljin barrel and said he most likely wouldn’t have fitted the stock.

This is what I figured out:

Bipod - Atlas or other and which model
Ammo - what’s the best way to select ammo to shoot to see what it likes? I won’t be handloading…yet
Shooting bag - what are people’s go to

I’m looking forward to learning and always appreciate tips from those who’ve been shooting for years.

What’s for sale?​

Pair of Seekins Precision 1.26” high 34mm scope rings. Light use.

Both are thumbhole stocks and similar condition although the 2.0 has more rounds fired. I'm trying to figure out what differences there are, if any, and how that might affect my purchasing decision. I'm also a bit torn in that I like the look of the AXSA but it's another $2K so there's that

-Foundation centurion, black micarta, inlet for SA RH lone peak fusion action in perfect condition, see pictures below. Comes with a section of brass arca rail (see pictures) and an MDT m5 DBM with screws. Priced to sell at 1075 shipped, or 950 if you don’t want the DBM.

UPDATE: I found an anschutz rail in a drawer with a 6” foundation arca section… your choice, if you want the anschutz rail and 6” arca or the brass half section of arca rail, just let me know and that’s what the stock ships with.

NOTE: the rubber hexagons help at having a better grip, but if you don’t like them I’ll remove and ensure there’s no residue/marks before I ship it out.

Any issues running 855A1 through a factory SR-15? (Both CQB and Carbine uppers), with 5.56 QDC. Also running Sandcutters, not that it likely makes any difference.

Hello all,

I have a 3-9x40 Trijicon Accupoint (Amber Triangle). This scope has been bomb proof for me on my scout 450 bushmaster that I use in the midwest. Looking to make a change in favor of something with a lower bottom end magnification. Visibly you can see the scope has been used and set in rings (Leupold scout rifle rings). Nothing egregious.
