Looking at a 6CM and reading about people keeping at 3000 or just under and increasing barrel life some.

Is it the same concept if I were to load a smaller bullet like a 85gr to get up to 3200 fps vs pushing a 103-108 at the same speed?

I’m not sure if it’s the velocity that’s killing the barrel life or the pressure?

Hi folks, I could use a recommendation on who to send my barrel to. Unfortunately, my local smith who I trusted in OK recently retired. I have a very low round count stainless .223 Wylde AR barrel from a reputable mfg that's been shelved for a few years because it was exhibiting some possible overpressure signs. After the second blown primer and a stuck live round, I stopped. I just put the gun in the safe as I didn't have time to mess with it. Took a close look at it recently. A number of new reputable mil-spec AR bolts(BCM, Geissele, Microbest, Sionics) will not close on a go gauge. The unknown MFG bolt that was originally in the gun I bought did close on a go gauge, and I noted that it has short lugs compared to the others I measured. Bore scope shows a few tiny impact spots (craters with raised outer burrs) in shoulder area that I'm assuming are from debris getting thrown around/stuck during reaming. Not sure if that minor peening is the entirety of the issue, or if the chamber is also short. Match rounds and a function gauge manually dropped into the chamber will stick and need a very slight push with bore rod to remove. I was tempted to try one of those bore hones, but know that ain't a precision instrument. No luck getting in touch with MFG and since I've had possession of it for so long, not sure if they'd help anyway. I'd rather send to a good smith. Thanks!

What do you guys recommend for cams? I got some property in WV I used to hunt as a kid, that got passed down. Its 6 hours away so we would like to set some game cams up to monitor the wildlife and anything else going up there. The top half of the property according verizons map gets LTE data.

Between all the game cams and the different plans its kind of overwhelming. Do you guys have any suggestions for reliable cams with LONG battery lives (we may only get up there once or twice a year.

Is there a real solid solution for a scope rail that extends out far enough over the barrel for my 527 varmint? I have one from DIP and I am less than impressed with the mounting design.

I'm a 300m sports shooter using Lapua Palma and Peterson SRP brass with a Redding multistation press. I primarily resize the neck, avoiding full-length sizing and annealing. Which method - Lee Collet Die or SAC bushings - is better for resizing the neck in this context? Your experiences and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Now, for the “M24” part. The action is a G series, with factory 8-40 scope base holes, bolt is Sandstrom Gray coated and last 4 are stamped on the bolt handle. Factory Remington M24 barrel stamped “308 WIN” with Remington proof marks. Has some finish wear. Only weird thing about the rifle is it had old school rifle sights installed by Remington. Don’t ask my why. The upside is the front screw holes are the correct position and spacing for a redfield front sight base (I have a .225 one if needed). Downside is the rear scope holes on the barrel just sit there. Cover them with a MIRS or MARS and no one will be the wiser.
